Sailor Moon x Pullip – Pullip Sailor V Preorders Open @Pullipstyle

Pullipstyle has opened up preorders for the latest doll in the Sailor Moon x Pullip collaboration line: Sailor V! Sailor V is not expected in stock until mid to late December and is priced at $130. You can preorder her here!
Sailor V is the original sailor suited soldier of love and justice. The Codename: Sailor V manga actually predates Sailor Moon, Sailor V would later reappear in the Sailor Moon series as Sailor Venus. Before joining the series as a full fledged character, Usagi (Sailor Moon) was often seen playing the Sailor V video game at the arcade and would fantasize about being a real superhero like Sailor V!
I love the Codename: Sailor V manga possibly even more than Sailor Moon which spun off from it and there is so very little merchandise of Sailor V so I’m very excited about this release. I definitely will not be able to resist the opportunity to add her to my crew!

Sailor Moon x Pullip – Details announced about Pullip Sailor V’s Release

Groove teased us last week with a picture of Pullip Sailor V on their blog, earlier today they made a new post revealing the details of her upcoming release. Sailor V will be the fourteenth doll in the super popular Sailor Moon x Pullip line of dolls. Sailor V has a MSRP of 17000 yen and will be released in November in Japan but we will not her here in the US until mid to late December (please, please be home in time for Christmas!).

For those of you maybe not familiar with the series who are now wondering why Sailor V looks so much like Sailor Venus it’s because before Sailor Venus became a character in Sailor Moon she was the title character of her own manga Codename: Sailor V which is set in the same universe as Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. I had been hoping that Sailor V would be released as a doll ever since the collaboration line was announced as there is just so little Sailor V merchandise unlike Sailor Moon in general which has an unfathomable amount of merchandise. I had a glimmer of hope when she was featured as one of the choices in the facebook poll that Groove did last year about which dolls we would like to see in the future as a part of the Pullip x Sailor Moon line.

Preorders open for Pullip Naoko & Taeyang Koichi also My Select Frara on special @Pullipstyle

Pullipstyle has opened up preorders for Pullip Naoko and Taeyang Koichi. Both dolls are part of the Creator’s Label line and were designed by Sheryl’s Designs you can read about them in more detail here. Both dolls are set for a mid to late December release and are priced at $135 each. Taeyang Koichi can be preordered here and Pullip Naoko can be preordered here.
null I’m definitely going to have to buy Taeyang Koichi at some point but I will definitely need to see owner photos of Pullip Naoko before committing to her. What do you think of this pair?

Also of note, My Select Frara is now being featured in the Friday Sales Section, she has been marked down to only $39.95! For those unfamiliar with the My Select line they are a basic doll based on a previous release that just comes with only a simple towel dress, they are great if you enjoy redressing/rewigging your doll but maybe aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into Make It Own or MIO kits. New Sheryl’s Designs Pullip & Taeyang Releases Announced!

Groove recently announced via their blog that they would be a doing two new collaboration dolls with Sheryl’s Designs. Sheryl’s Designs is a very talented Spanish Pullip customizer who previously collaborated with Groove to make the absolutely amazing Pullip Akemi (a review of her can be seen here) as a part of Groove’s Creator Label line. The Creator’s Label line is nice because it shines the spotlight on customizers who are a part of the doll community and let’s their voice be heard, it also gives more people a chance to own a doll designed by them.

Pullip Naoko and Taeyang Koichi are both set for a November release in Japan, though we probably will not be seeing them here in the US until mid to late December. Both dolls have a MSRP of 20,000 yen as of this writing that’s equal to about $166 each.

These dolls are kind of like a breath of fresh air, this year has seen many collaboration dolls and very few original releases. The collaboration dolls while lovely don’t always seem to have the same personality as the more original releases and if it’s one thing this pair has it’s an abundance of personality! They are both very unique dolls, even if they might not be everyone’s style it’s great to see a release that stands out and is different!

J-Doll Andrassy Avenue

J-dolls are 1/6 fashion dolls made by Jun Planning (pre- April 2009)/Groove ( May 2009 through the lines end in 2013). J-dolls are based on the idea that the dolls are fashion models who travel the world, they are named after famous streets which correspond to their fashion style. J-Dolls are made by the same company that make Pullip and they share the same body design though the neck is modified a bit (the piece that connects J-doll’s necks to their head are a little different than on a Pullip) because they share the same body type that means they can also share clothing so Pullip can wear J-doll clothing and J-doll can wear Pullip clothing woohoo wardrobe expansion for all parties involved!

Andrassy Avenue’s style is based on a street in Budapest, Hungary. The street connects Elizabeth Square with the City Park and is home to awe inspiring architecture as well as many upscale boutiques. I’ve never been to Budapest, so I can’t comment on how accurate her street style is especially now that nearly six years have passed since her release and fashion is an ever changing and evolving thing but if I were somehow able to somehow granted the ability to make any one J-doll releases’ outfit full sized so I could wear it, her’s would be the one I would choose!

Andrassy Ave was released in December of 2009 and had a MSRP of 10000 yen. J-doll Andrassy Avenue is kind of special to me, she has always stood out to me as being the most iconic of all the different J-doll releases (you can see the whole catalog of back releases here). She is one of the most popular J-dolls ever made, so it is no surprise that she holds the #1 best seller rank for J-dolls on Pullipstyle which is incidentally where I bought her from. As of this writing, she is priced at $65 on Pullipstyle.

Sailor Moon x Pullip- Sailor V Pullip Announced!

Groove just made a very exciting announcement via their blog tonight, a Sailor V Pullip is going to be released! Not many details are known just yet about the release of Sailor V as of this writing but I’m guessing she will be a November release. Sailor V will be the fourteenth doll released in the very popular Sailor Moon x Pullip series.
For those of you unfamiliar with the series who are possibly wondering why she looks so much like Sailor Venus right now it is because she is Sailor Venus. The character Aino Minako was previously featured in Naoko Takeuchi’s manga Sailor V where she was the main character, which predates Sailor Moon. Sailor V carried over to the new Sailor Moon manga but as Sailor Venus although she is famous as Sailor V in the Sailor Moon universe as well ie. even in the very first episode you see Sailor V video games and Usagi fantasizes about being a hero like Sailor V even trying to deliver a savage Sailor V kick to her younger brother. Of course, I speak of my experience with the older series and the manga somehow I can’t quite bring myself to watch Sailor Moon Crystal ^^;

I will be sure to update here as more details become available! This one is a definite must buy for me as I love the Sailor V manga possibly even more than the Sailor Moon manga.

Tiny BJD Ai Doll Tsubaki

Ai Dolls are tiny ball jointed dolls that were made by Groove (formerly Jun Planning) the same company that makes Pullip! Ai Dolls are approximately five inches tall and are made of ABS plastic ie. not resin, they are also not gendered. They come as full set dolls with a face up, wigs, eyes (closed eye models such as Madonna Lily do not come with eyes), clothing and accessories. They are great little dolls with awesome themes, I definitely recommend them if you are bjd-curious and are curious about bjds but really they make a great addition to just about any doll collection.

Ai Doll Tsubaki was originally released in January of 2013, she was one of the last few Ai Dolls to be released it took me quite some time to even confirm she was actually released as I could not find any photos of her or well proof of her existence. I had felt like she was one of the best Ai Doll designs and really wanted her but she was very hard to find luckily Pullipstyle recently stocked a number of Ai Dolls on their website including Tsubaki. Not only did Pullipstyle now have some of the rarest Ai Dolls but all of their Ai Dolls were priced really reasonably with $50 being on the higher end of the spectrum so instead of her rather robust original MSRP of 15000 yen, I only paid $50 and I couldn’t be happier with her.

Make It Own Pullip Kits in stock @Pullipstyle

One of the most frequently asked questions I receive on this site is when will the Make It Own or MIO Pullip kits be restocked, Pullipstyle finally received a restock shipment of normal skin Pullip kits which are available to buy via their website. There is a purchase limit of five kits per customer, even with the limit in place expect the MIO kits to sell out extremely quickly like within a week or two as they are very popular. Isul and Dal MIO kits are also in stock as of this writing.

If you do not already know MIO kits are blank doll kits ideal for customization, the possibilities of what you can do with them are pretty much endless. For years up until this point if you wanted to customize a doll you either had to wait and hope for a baited doll to show up on the secondary market or buy a new doll to customize so the option of being able to buy a blank doll kit at a low price is really the answer to Pullip collector’s prayers.

JPGroove has extended Pullip Alura’s preorder period, she can now be preordered until 10/4. She is due in stock in mid-October and is priced at $150, she can be ordered here.
Preorders have opened for restock shipments of Pullips Alice du Jardin, Tiphona and Regeneration Paja on Pullipstyle. All three dolls are lovely and are extremely popular releases! They all have an October release date. Alice du Jardin is priced at $114.95 and can be preordered here. Tiphona is priced at $119.95 and can be preordered here. Regeneration Paja is priced at $103.95 and can be preordered here.
Make It Own or MIO Pullip kits are hopefully to be restocked some time this week on Pullipstyle, please keep a keen eye on their website if you are interested as I suspect they will sell out as soon as they come in stock again. I’m glad that the MIO kits seem to be getting periodic re-releases as they are definitely very popular!
Isul White Rabbit in Steampunk Land and Pullip Luna Princess’ Lover Kaguya from Sailor Moon are also both due in stock this week via Pullipstyle. There is still time to preorder the White Rabbit and as well as Luna before they come in stock. I can’t wait to see owner photos of both dolls but I am especially excited for owner photos of Luna!!!

Tiny Anthro BJD Pang-ju Black Russian-Pang

Pang-ju are a small anthro ball jointed doll made by Groove, the same company that makes Pullip. It should be noted that they are made of ABS plastic rather than resin, they are also non-gendered with some releases being styled as males with other being styled as females. Pullipstyle recently placed several different Pang-ju on special, with the new reduced price tag of only $50 my little pack of Pang-ju quickly expanded. Black Russian-Pang was one of my newer Pang-ju additions.

Black Russian-Pang was released in April of 2014 with a MSRP of 10000 yen. Black Russian-Pang was inspired by Dracula, he is kind of unique because he is the only Pang-ju with vampire fangs. I like that he is very unique, I don’t think I have ever seen a vampire Chihuahua anywhere before!
