Requiemart PIPP: Colorfasting

Please note that this tutorial was authored by Requiemart and was originally posted on her website, it is being archived here with her permission/blessing as a part of the Pullip Information Preservation Project.

This tutorial is so simple, there are no pictures. It is just as necessary as it is simple; doll clothes have a habit of being made from un-colorfasted materials which will stain your doll. If you have any clothes in black, red, or dark blue/purple that you intend to keep on your doll for any length of time, I would absolutely recommend doing this first.

For this you will need:

  • A bowl
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Salt

Pour 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1tsp of salt into a bowl with approx 4 cups water. Drop in the articles of doll clothing. Swish ’em around a little bit until they are thoroughly saturated with the mix and let them sit for about 30 mins.
Take them out, rinse them with water and a little bit of soap (hand soap will do) in the sink. Let air dry.

Wasn’t that easy?
