JPGroove announces SDCC releases, also Sailor Moon at @SDCC

JPGroove just posted the following on their facebook.

No pictures yet but the news is exciting! I’M DYING FOR PICTURES especially since all the past Tokidoki collaboration Pullips have been so amazing.

Also a Tokidoki Dal? That’s a first. Sailor Moon will not only be on display, a small number will actually be available for purchase. I wonder what the rare past Pullip family dolls are. I could not be more excited about this announcement! As soon as pictures become available I’ll be sure to update!

Pullip Hino

I recently purchased Pullip Hino from Pullipstyle, I had been thinking about getting her for a while after seeing some truly lovely owner photos of her so when I saw her in the dentbox section I was powerless to resist.

Decorate with whatever I live however I like….Feel Like So

Last year, Groove had a We♥Pullip exhibit at Shibuya PARKO as part of the festivities they had a special Student Challenge Cup competition that was open to design students. The winner of the design challenge was Hitomi Sato of hitomaterial (you can see all of the entries extraordinary releases page here). The winning design is pictured below.

Pullip Hino is a collaboration with Hitomi Sato. She was released in November of 2013 and has a MSRP of 15000 yen.

Revolutionary Girl Utena- Utena figure

I figured it was just about time for an interlude or a moment of respite where I do not focus on dolls here as I couldn’t remember the last time I wrote about something other than a Pullip here. Revolutionary Girl Utena is one of my favorite older anime series, I consider it to be almost criminal that there was barely ever any merchandise from it during it’s original run. It’s still kind of feels funny to me to think of Utena as an older anime series now, I still remember eagerly waiting for the fansub tapes to arrive at my local comic book store. Last year a glorious 1/3 Azone doll of Utena was released, I was kind of halfheartedly browsing Yahoo Japan recently searching for her when I spotted this lovely figure by Sega Prize.

The Utena figure was released late May, it’s a Sega Prize so it has a MSRP of a mere 1800 yen. There is another figure of Utena this time by Megahouse forthcoming (details here), I was initially very excited about it as it was Utena but something about it made me hold off on preordering her. I think I will wait for owner photos to make a decision about her especially since I am very satisfied with the Sega Prize.

Preorders for Pullips Meg & Classical Alice Sepia version now open @Pullipstyle

I just wanted to drop a note here that Pullipstyle has opened up preorders for Pullips Meg and Classical Alice Sepia Version. Both dolls are due for a September release here in the states (August in Japan).

Meg is a sweet country girl, she is priced at $120 her listing can be viewed here.

Classical Alice Sepia Version, another Alice this one is done up grey-scale so she is kind of unique and interesting. She is priced at $112.95 and her listing can be viewed here.

I’m still undecided about these two girls, I’m sure I’ll get both of them eventually (especially Meg who I love and adore) but I’ll probably hold off on preordering. Right now I am prioritizing preordering Pullips Sailor Moon and Rozen Maiden Kirakishou… not to mention still waiting on news of what the SDCC doll(s) may be.

Pullipstyle seems to have had a restock today in addition to listing the new dolls up for preorder… Dal Icarus is back in stock, she has been on the top of my wishlist for a while now dare I? Pullip Hino or Beary Fairy Kiyomi will be the next doll I review here, if anyone has a strong preference as to which doll should be reviewed next please comment!

Pullip Dahlia Cinderella

I normally limit my write ups to dolls I buy that are NRFB or at least complete with all their stock/accessories but I recently bought a nude Dahlia Cinderella and decided to take her with me to the park yesterday for photos. A combination of there not being many owner photos of Dahlia Cinderella and my photos turning out nicely led me to a decision that she deserved a write up.

Dahlia Cinderella is a part of the Starry Night Cinderella line of dolls, which also includes the post-transformation for the ball Pullip Princess Dahlia Cinderella, Cinderella’s prince Taeyang Ramiro, Cinderella’s fairy Godmother Isul Lumiere, Cinderella’s wicked stepsister Byul Clorinda & Cinderella’s mouse friend Little Byul Garcon. The only other doll I have from this line is the Little Byul. Dahlia Cinderella was released in July of 2013 and had a MSRP of 13000 yen.

Pullip Sailor Moon now available via JPGroove

Just wanted to drop a note here that Pullip Sailor Moon is now available for preorder through JPGroove. She is priced at $145.95 and is set for an August release.

Dare I hope that one will be on display at San Diego Comic Con later this month? Also that some kind soul will take pictures for me if she is. Not only is SDCC on the other side of the country I’ve heard that it tends to be a very crowded event attended by 1000s of people and I don’t do crowds.

Pullip Eloise

I recently acquired Pullip Eloise, she honestly hadn’t been that high on my wishlist but I hadn’t seen many owner photos of her so I decided to take a chance and buy her when I saw her pop up for sale used. As soon as I saw her in person, I was absolutely taken with her and did not regret my decision at all.

What was the reason for your visit? Calm and proper…Feel Like So.

Pullip Eloise is part of the School Diary series released last year alongside Isul Cedric and Taeyang Ethan. As of this time no Byul or Dal has been released or even announced for this series. I own only Eloise from this series, I may add Cedric to my doll family some day though. Eloise has a MSRP of 13,000 yen and was released in September of 2013 just in time for going back to school!

Midnight Deja Vu Isul

Midnight Deja Vu was released in May of 2012. He has a MSRP of 12000 yen. He has actually been with me for a while, he was actually a Christmas present that Mr. Klein had bought me from Pullipstyle (Fraulein too though I still haven’t introduced her yet). I don’t tend to fancy the boy dolls as much as the girl dolls so their purchases tend to be few and far between but Midnight Deja Vu had been on the top of my wishlist for a while.

Forbidden fruit that shines in the deep darkness… Now extend your arms and see… You must already know the secret behind its sweetness… …situation like so

Midnight Deja Vu, Midnight Velvet, Snow White and Sentimental Noon

Midnight Deja Vu was a part of the Snow White series of dolls alongside Pullips Snow White and Midnight Velvet (wicked step-mother), Dal Sentimental Noon (jester/dwarf) and Taeyang Twilight Destiny (Snow White’s Prince). Midnight Deja Vu is supposed to be the evil queen ie. Midnight Velvet in disguise. I really love this set, so much so that I have everyone but the Taeyang who I’d love to own some day. I’ve previously done reviews of Snow White, Midnight Velvet and Sentimental Noon.

Sailor Moon Pullip- Facebook Poll Results Announced & More Pictures

Last night there was a veritable flurry of activity on Groove’s blog and almost all of it had to do with the forthcoming release of Pullip Sailor Moon. The results of the Facebook poll were announced, Groove acknowledged that at this point are for reference only so it doesn’t necessarily mean that releases would go in this order and/or there is a guarantee we will see more dolls though with how popular Sailor Moon seems to be it seems like more dolls are a given.

August Pullip Releases Announced: Classical Alice Sepia Version & Meg

I got excited when I woke up this morning and saw that Groove had made an announcement via their blog during the night, I had thought the SDCC release(s) had finally been revealed no but the August Pullips have finally been revealed. While they have an August release in Japan, they will not be released in the US until a month later as it takes Pullip a little while to make her journey to the US. So far two Pullips have been revealed, Classical Alice Sepia Version and Meg.

While one doll is a recolor of a doll that was released last year, I am happy to say that neither doll is a collaboration which is turning into a true rarity of late.
