JPGroove Sample Sale + Pullipstyle Specials= Fabulous Pullip deals & an empty wallet

Unfortunately for my and probably countless other members of the Pullip community’s wallets, there are some truly outstanding Pullip related sales going on right now. Caution, this post may be extraordinarily dangerous to one’s wallet/paypal balance…

JPGroove Sample Sale If you haven’t checked it out already, I highly suggest you check out JPGroove’s Sample Sale. For those of you unfamiliar with JPGroove’s Sample Sale, the dolls featured as a part of the sale are dolls that were previously used as display dolls at events such as Doll Carnival. Since these are previously used display dolls they do not come with boxes, stands and cards they may also be missing accessories as stuff gets misplaced over the years. It should be noted that there are absolutely no returns/exchanges/refunds on sample sale items. samplesalejpgroove
As of this writing, there are still 28 dolls available as a part of the sample sale, I’m honestly surprised that there are still a lot of really great dolls like Pullip Kuhn available. After stalking the sale for so long, it seems like JPGroove deletes sold listings and has been periodically adding another doll or two so I recommend you check back occasionally.
Sample sale @JPGrooveSome of my own dolls that I ordered via the Sample Sale arrived this week and I could not be happier with them, you can look forward to them being featured here in the future. The next doll to be featured here will be Alte who was also purchased via the sample sale for a friend of mine (I’m just forwarding it to her but she said I was more than welcome to photograph her).

Pullipstyle Specials Pullipstyle has had a somewhat oddly named Friday Sales section for a while, the sales have been ongoing with different dolls being featured in it but never before has it featured such an unprecedented number and variety of dolls. As of this writing, there are a total of 81 dolls featured as a part of the sale including 11 Pang-ju, 13 Isul, 28 Dals, 8 Byuls, 8 Taeyangs and 13 Pullips. Prices range from around $40 to $120 with most of the dolls being offered in the very affordable $70 or less range. There are a lot of really great classic Dal releases like Lipoca on special in addition to some more recent dolls like Steampunk Byul Moirai who is down to $70 and who is by far, my biggest temptation. In addition to being high on wishlist, Moirai is also the last Byul that I have never owned…. do I dare give into temptation? b324_4It’s worth noting that you should really click around on the website and look around because there are a few other dolls like Lizbel who are not marked as being a part of the Friday Sales special but are certainly priced that way!

Both sales are a great opportunity to add that special dolly someone that you may have overlooked before to your doll family/collection at a wonderful price! I know, I definitely took advantage of the sale and will likely do so again when my next paycheck comes!

I’ve had a few people ask me recently so as a note, I don’t actually get anything from doing posts like this, I’m not a paid affiliate of either website. In fact, if anything this post has ended up costing me money as I ended up caving and ordering Byul Moirai from Pullipstyle while I was writing it. I enjoy connecting people with the dolls they love, I personally enjoy getting a deal so I try to spread the news of a sale when I find one so other people can get a doll they love at a more wallet-friendly price too!

The Undertaker Taeyang will be the eighth full sized doll released in collaboration with Kuroshitsuji. Le Petit Prince x Alice and the Pirates Isul Announced!

Groove announced the start of a new collaboration series via their blog last night, the new series is a triple collaboration between Groove, Le Petit Prince and Alice & the Pirates. This new collaboration series seems to be commemorating the release of the recent film adaptation by Warner Brothers of the beloved children’s classic Le Petit Prince. The design and character are based on the title character of Le Petit Prince. The clothing is designed by  Alice & the Pirates which is a sub-brand of the Japanese lolita clothing company Baby, the Stars Shine Bright. Groove has collaborated frequently with Baby, the Stars Shines Bright as well as Alice & the Pirates in the past.
Isul the Little Prince has been scheduled for a December release in Japan, he will not be released in the US until January of next year. He has a rather robust price tag of 22000 yen.  I935_02_mailMy star Will just BE one of the stars, for you. Sailor Moon x Pullip- Black Lady Pullip Details Announced!

Groove has finally announced the details for the upcoming release of the latest doll in the super popular Sailor Moon x Pullip line Black Lady via their blog. Black Lady will be the fifteenth doll released as a part of the Sailor Moon x Pullip line but she will be the first villain released as a part of the line. It is not known at this time if she will end up being the only villain doll released or not, the villains always had interesting character designs so I’m kind of hoping that if they do release more dolls in this line they’ll be villains.

Black Lady is set to have a December release in Japan (she’ll be released one month later here in the states) and has a MSRP of 18000 yen.

Pullip Kore

Sometimes the popularity of Pullip releases can be hard to predict, sometimes dolls sell out quickly while other times they are available for quite some time. While Pullip Kore had been on my wishlist for a while, my priorities pushed me in other directions and I decided to wait to pursue Pullip Kore. I wrongly assumed that purchasing her could wait a bit and surely she wasn’t in danger of selling out…. I was wrong. I made obtaining Pullip Kore my number one priority after noticing that she had been moved into the Archive section of Pullipstyle, I managed to find her on eBay for a decent price via a random seller.

Pullip Kore was released in April of 2014 which was seemingly perfect timing for her release due to her spring theme. Her MSRP was 15000 yen. Pullip Kore’s inspiration seems to be that of a Spring Goddess, she also seems to have drawn inspiration by the art work of Alphonse Mucha’s Art Nouveau movement. She bears a striking resemblance to the girl in the F. Champenois Imprimeur-Éditeur lithograph in particular which kind of makes her an unofficial addition to Groove’s fine art series of dolls alongside Pullip Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Dolly Japan Exclusive Pullip Alura

Last year, Hobby Japan launched a new magazine called Dolly Japan. The second issue of Dolly Japan featured a Pullip on the cover, who would later be released as Pullip Laura. In addition to having a Pullip grace the cover of the second issue, there were several articles about Pullips in Europe. One of these articles featured British collector and photographer Laura/Pure Embers one of the dolls she had showcased was Laura (the doll on the cover) and one of the others would go on to be released as Pullip Alura.

Pullip Alura was announced for release via the fourth issue of Dolly Japan magazine back in May although she was not to be released until October. Pullip Alura is a part of Groove’s Creator Label  line, she is the result of a triple collaboration she was styled by Laura/Pure Embers, her face up is by Mitsubachi@babybee and her clothing was designed by Momolita. Pullip Laura was designed by the same trio.

In Japan, Alura was a Hobby Japan exclusive with a MSRP of 18000 yen. JPGroove was fortunately able to offer a small number of Pullip Alura via their website for international fans of Pullip. Alura was priced at $150 via JPGroove, I preordered her via their website and she arrived this past weekend. As of this writing, they still have a few spare Alura available via their website here although I do not expect them to last very long.
I was personally very excited about Pullip Alura, she was the first 2015 Groove doll that I had purchased this year. My attention had been pulled in other directions this year as I focused on diversifying my doll crew a bit and going after some older releases I have been wanting for a while. Alura was so special that I couldn’t risk missing her, she is a gorgeous doll for sure but I can’t help but feel slightly disappointed with her quality. Perhaps I was just unlucky, even with her flaws I don’t regret buying her as she is just so gorgeous!

Sailor Moon x Pullip- Pullip Black Lady Announced!

Groove announced Pullip Black Lady, the 15th doll in the very popular Sailor Moon x Collaboration via their blog tonight. According to the official Sailor Moon website she will have a MSRP of 18000 yen and be released in December of this year, which means we will not see her until January here in the US.

For those of you unfamiliar with the series, Black Lady or Wicked Lady as she was known in the bastardized American dub was the evil corrupted form of Chibiusa/Sailor Chibi Moon. She made a brief but very memorable appearance in the Sailor Moon R anime series when Chibiusa was corrupted by Wiseman. After several failed attempts Sailor Moon was able to save the day and restore Chibiusa. Black Lady is the first villain to be released in doll form, I wonder if any of the others will be released as well? ::crosses fingers for the Amazonian Quartet::

I will be sure to update as more information and photos of Black Lady become available!

Isul Cedric

JPGroove is having another Sample Sale this weekend which you can read about in more detail here, I strongly encourage you to check it out if you have not already as there are still a lot of great deals. I thought I should take this opportunity to feature one of the dolls that was purchased during the last Sample Sale. Isul Cedric belongs to Requiemart but he visited me briefly as we had ended up tacking dolls on one another’s orders so we could hit the necessary amount for free shipping (orders of $175 or more qualify for free shipping within the US). I was given permission to photograph him during his stay here so I could share him here…..

cedric eloise ethan

Isul Cedric is a part of the School Diary series alongside Taeyang Ethan and Pullip Eloise, who I previously reviewed here.  Unfortunately no corresponding Dal or Byul were ever announced or released in this series, I think Byul would have looked particularly adorable in a school uniform. Cedric was released in October of 2013 and had a MSRP of 13000 yen. I’ve always been somewhat taken with Cedric so I was grateful to get a chance to handle him though now that I have, I feel like I’m doomed to end up ordering him myself one day.

Pullip & Family Sample Sale @JPGroove

JPGroove is having another sample sale via their website. What is a sample sale? A sample sale features dolls that were previously displayed at events such as Doll Party, Doll Carnival or even at SDCC because they are display dolls they do not come with their boxes/stands and cards, they may also be missing accessories (they try to note if something is missing but sometimes they miss things). It should be noted that there are absolutely no returns, refunds of exchanges on dolls from the sample sale; I would not buy from this sale if you want or expect an absolutely mint NRFB doll. This is a definitely a great chance to add a doll to your collection for a great price! I definitely took advantage of the sale to add Isul Fairy Lumiere, Isul Tete, Pullip Rche, Pullip Yuri and Pullip Noir to my collection. There are still lots of great dolls available at great prices including Taeyang Andre Grandier, Pullip Nanette plus classic dolls like Pullip China China even a few Namus as of this writing, there are nearly sixty dolls listed. It’s very exciting to watch the website and see which dolls will be listed next! You  can check out the whole selection here.

This past summer maybe around late July JPGroove had a sample sale, I may have bought some dolls from the sample sale as well. I’m including a picture so you see how the dolls come packaged, the dolls come bagged and there is tons of packaging paper to cushion the dolls on their journey I had already yanked Isul Cedric out of the bag in my excitement.
Couple of other things of note about JPGroove, they offer free shipping within the US on orders totaling over $175 (total does not include shipping). The sample doll listings are deleted after dolls sell so if I have mentioned a doll and they can’t be found it means that they have sold out in the meantime ^^; . I’m not getting anything by posting this I just love to connect people with the dolls they want.

Isul Classical Mad Hatter

I recently purchased Isul Classical Mad Hatter alongside J-doll Andrassy Avenue from Pullipstyle, I’ve already reviewed Andrassy Avenue (her review can be seen here) so now it’s Classical Mad Hatter’s turn in the spotlight!

Isul Classical Mad Hatter is a part of the Classical Alice in Wonderland series of dolls that was released back in 2013 with the exception of Classical Alice Sepia Version which was released a year later. He was one of the first few dolls in the series released alongside Dal Classical Alice in March of 2013. His MSRP is 12000 yen, he is currently featured as a part of Pullipstyle’s oddly named Friday Sales section and is on special for only $85 here.

Classical Mad Hatter is the third of four full sized dolls in the Groove family to portray the Mad Hatter, the others are Taeyang Romantic Mad Hatter, Taeyang Mad Hatter Du Jardin and the newly released Alice x Steampunk Pullip Mad Hatter. I dare say that Classical Mad Hatter is my favorite of the Mad Hatter dolls though the Pullip Mad Hatter would be a very close second.  I love Alice in Wonderland and I’ve always really loved the ornate designs of the Classical Alice series of the dolls plus lately I’ve become quite enamored with Isul, so you see I was doomed to order this delightful fellow!

Classical Mad HatterToday is not your birthday… That’s celebratory would like some tea?….Situation Like So
