Groove updated their blog again during the night, more pictures of the forthcoming Rozen Maiden Suigintou were uploaded. She will be released May (June here in the US) and has a MSRP of 16000 yen.

Groove announced a new version of Suigintou via their blog earlier this morning. Suigintou is from the anime Rozen Maiden, Jun Planning previously collaborated with Rozen Maiden to make a series of dolls starting back in 2006 it was the first major anime collaboration for Pullip. So far this year, of the fifteen dolls announced and/or released only six of them are original dolls ie. not collaboration and of those six one looks like an unofficial collaboration and one of the others is a recolor of a previously released doll.
Collaboration dolls are great in moderation but I remember at the time of the original Rozen Maiden’s series release that a lot of people in the community seemed upset that so many collabs were released and dominated most of the release dates for the year, now here we are again six years later. Is Groove going to re-release the entire series? Given how long some of the dolls took to sold out that doesn’t seem wise on their part especially since at least one of the dolls Hina Ichigo is still available nearly eight years after release. Personally, I love Rozen Maiden and it’s what got me into Pullips but I think I’d rather see new original releases.
2014 Suigintou
She has a MSRP of 16000 yen (the original had a MSRP of 12000 yen). While she does look more detailed than the original, she does not appear to come with any accessories unless of course you order through TBS where you get a bonus feather if you order before the 20th of April. The original came with a sword.
2007 Suigintou
I’ll be sure to update as soon as more photos become available. Currently she is only available for preorder via TBS. TBS is the official goods shop of Rozen Maiden so at this time I assume that like Sparrow and Shinku, Suigintou will not be exclusive to them but they seem to have the right to list her for preorder first.
I’m hoping to crank my productivity back up here now that I’ve gotten the bulk of the stuff sorted in the apartment.
Pullip Dilettante was released in February of this year in Japan and is just now being released here in the US. Dilettante is the only non-collaboration release for the month. She has a MSRP of 15000 yen.
JPGroove sent me Dilettante as a sample item along with Pullip Sakura Miku and Taeyang AKIRA x Destinee de la Rose , when I saw her promotional photos initially Dilettante had failed to leave any sort of impression on me, I have to say in person she is stunner! She is a very classy and sophisticated, sort of lady. She reminds me a bit of an updated release of the classic Pullip release Afternoon whereas Afternoon seems idyllic in her 1950s-esque outfit Dilettante is a more of a modern classic. Dilettante’s stock look seems much more practical and suited in realism when compared to most Pullip stock, I could actually see someone wearing this to work in real life.
With the hustle and bustle of the city and station me, I will stroll anywhere… I’m not interested in pretty things… Although it’s different with pretty and unusual things… Feel Like So.
I decided to take a break from focusing on the whole moving thing and attend Anime Boston this past Saturday. This is the eighth Anime Boston I have attended, this is the convention’s thirteenth year; it’s the largest Anime Convention in the North East, US.
The first promotional photo of Pullip Sailor Moon has surfaced via SailorMoonCollectibles.
MSRP is still unknown, release date is slated for summer 2014 (no further details on exact date are available). A prototype of Pullip Sailor Moon was on display this past weekend at the AnimeJapan event. I’ll post if any photos from the event surface.
In other Pullip news, Pullips Aira and Kore as well as Dal Silane have been listed up for preorder on Pullipstyle. Pullip Kore and Dal Silane are priced at $109.95 each, Pullip Aira is priced at $144. It is worth noting that Aira is priced the same as Myra was previously and had the highest MSRP of the dolls being released this month. I’m probably going to try and find split partners for Kore and Silane so I can get the dolls but I’m undecided about Aira.
Dilettante’s review and as well as reviews of all the MIO items will be up in the next few days, sorry for the delay it seems like everything in my life just wants to go wrong and everything gets crazy all at once ^^;
Taeyang AKIRA x Destinee de la Rose was released in February of this year in Japan, he will be released here in the US some time in the next few weeks. So far this year AKIRA x Destinee de la Rose is the only Taeyang announced/released. He has a MSRP of 18000 yen.
I received my Taeyang AKIRA x Destinee de la Rose from JPGroove in my package of sample items. Initially when he was announced I didn’t really know what to think of him, his promotional shots were not that flattering and well a Taeyang collaboration with a lolita clothing company is something a little different. I’m aware a few Alice and the Pirates Isul collaborations exist but well Isul doesn’t really count, even his non-collaboration releases have been known to come with purses he is just not a very masculine fellow. The previously released H. Naoto and Hell Cat Punks Taeyangs have much more of a harder edge than AKIRA x Destinee de la Rose. I have to say I was pretty well shocked by just how striking he was in person, he was not a doll I would have bought based on promotional photos but after seeing him in person I now know how much I would have missed out on him by skipping him.
Taeyang AKIRA x Destinee de la Rose is a triple collaboration between Groove, Alice and the Pirates (clothing company) and Akira (model). Previously Aoki Misako and Fukasawa Midori partnered with Groove and Alice and the Pirates to release Favorite Ribbon and La Robe Vert Clair based on their own designs. The model designs the outfit in conjunction with Alice and the Pirates who releases the outfit in human size and Groove releases a doll based on their likeness in their designed outfit but now in 1/6 form.

Groove announced April’s releases via their blog earlier this morning. Two Pullips, a Dal and a Pang-ju have been announced so far, none of which are collaborations it’s been a long while since we have seen a month without a single collaboration. The dolls will all be released in April in Japan but they won’t be released in the US until May.

This post will be focusing on the Holiday Picnic Set which is a part of the MIO or Make it Own line of Pullip products. The MIO line includes everything from clothing sets to shoes to bodies and blank doll kits. JPGroove very graciously sent me some of the MIO items as well as some other goodies and I’m trying to slowly work my through blogging it all.
I love this clothing set, it’s cute and casual. It’s nice to see something more casual from Groove, the white dress is definitely pretty versatile and could work with a lot of different looks and styles.

JPGroove very generously sent me some sample items to review recently including Sakura Miku. Miku is one of the human persona of the singing synthesizer program Vocaloid. Miku has become so popular that a number of figures/dolls have been released based on her over the years. Groove originally partnered with Vocaloid to release Pullip Miku back in 2011, she was quickly followed by Dals Len and Rin. Eventually Pullips based on Luka and Meiko released as well as Taeyang based on Kaito. Two other versions of Miku: Snow Miku and Lots of Laugh Miku were released as well as a DoColla Little Pullip Miku before Sakura Miku was released this past month.
Sakura or cherry blossom Miku’s design was inspired by Snow Miku the original seasonal variation of Miku, she definitely looks ready for spring!
