Hello Kitty

I used to be an avid Hello Kitty fan, I probably used to spend about $100 a month on for the most part unnecessary Hello Kitty items. I don’t really buy all that much Hello Kitty these days, well I still buy occasionally but for the most part I buy stuff that actually has a use like Hello Kitty pens or a desk lamp versus little knickknacks that served no purpose other than to be cute. Then Target had to go and start carrying these Designer Collectible Hello Kitty figures ^^;

I was able to resist them for some time at $7 for a pack of two. Then they went down to $4 and the duck/soap two pack was so cute surely the one set wouldn’t hurt, right? I went to Target recently and they were down to $2 a pack so I bought the rest of the series ^^;

Their cute and all but they definitely fall into the somewhat useless category.. but they are so cute ^^;

Of course my favorite set is the one with the rubber duck, I have a weakness for rubber duckies in general but yeah that one really just killed me with the cute-ness.

365 Doll Project Part 8

Part 8 of my 365 doll project, I have done over 50 dolls so far and I think I am still going pretty strong. Next week will be a major challenge, I will be on somewhat of a vacation and I may not have internet access during it but my plan is to bring a number of mini pullips/dals with me and upload them when I get home if need be.

I am participating in Dalicious again this cycle with my Dal Papin, Tangerine. Last week’s theme was Adventure so I decided to have Tangerine go on a space adventure and fight against an evil space squid, I am ridiculously happy with how the actual photo turned out.

Another interesting photo I took unrelated to my 365 project was a group shot of all my byuls, my Lilith Akasha is scary she scares all the other byuls.

Remember how I mentioned going on a dolly diet?

I had a major failure, I mean I tried but last week for whatever reason I was having a horrible time falling asleep so I would surf the internet at all sorts of ungodly hours. It was only a matter of time before I did something regrettable in such a state although I don’t really regret buying the doll… the timing is however very unfortunate.

I had been looking at Lorina with a term probably best described as dolly lust. She is one of the newer Alice in Wonderland themed Volks YoSDs that were released. I thought she was absolutely wonderful and delightful, she had been at the very top of my wants list. Her arrival is bittersweet, I am ecstatic for her but also kind of embarrassed that I backslid on my dolly diet so soon ^^; .

I have been calling her Unalice because well she isn’t Alice and I am running out of Alice names at this point. I don’t care for the actual Alice as much as Lorina as I am not a big fan of super pale dolls and Alice unfortunately has the beautiful white skin tone. I think at the very least she will compliment my beloved Volks Hinaichigo YoSD, probably my Volks Yosd Lillie as well whom I still need to buy a new wig and clothes for. I was curious about the origin of the name Lorina in relation to Alice in Wonderland so I looked around a bit this afternoon. The eponymous girl whom Alice was allegedly based off Alice Liddell of mother’s name was Lorina, so I guess that explains it.

Unalice will probably, hopefully be my last bjd of the year. I realize this is a bold statement but I now have 16 bjds here and I have a pukipuki on layaway. One girl still doesn’t have a face up and I need more clothes, wigs etc for the dolls I have now before I really start thinking about buying any others.

365 Doll Project Part 7

I’m going on a self-imposed dolly diet after last week’s indulgences. I had been bad most of the month in actuality splurging on dolls quite a bit but last week took the cake. Last week I ended up getting two surprise girls as gifts, namely an Assa and a Lan Ake they were unexpected but were quickly welcomed into the fold. Then I got a lot carried away myself…

I ended up getting five dolls in the mail on Saturday >_< Eos 2.0 and Lilith arrived from Pullipstyle, a used Papin and I kind of splurged and bought a second Jouet and somehow tossed a Dumbo Byul in the cart at the same time.

365 Doll Project Part 6

You all should know the drill by now, I’m currently doing a 365 doll project. For the project I am basically photographing a different doll each day and sharing their profiles as well. I had a couple of new arrivals this week including Captain Hook and a somewhat customized Venus. I’ve been really bad about giving into impulses lately ^^;

I am really going to try and be strict about doll diet for a while, I was bad very bad. I am going to not try and talk about the elephant in the room, namely the doll in a polar bear suit that is in the mail. I have a Papin in the mail, I had intended to space out their purchases more unfortunately Papin’s price started to climb a bit so I thought it prudent to act now. I also have two gift dolls in the mail, I am not entirely sure who they are, I do know they are pullips but that is about it. Tracking says they should be here today.

Dollfie Shoot

I finally managed to take my dollfies out for a photo shoot today. I had been planning on taking them for over a week now but had been too busy. I’ve been collecting dollfies for almost a year and a half now (Kanu and Ryomou arrived on Valentine’s Day 2009) and now own 11 dollfie dreams in various sizes (1 MDD, 4 DDDY and 6 DD). I also have a number of Volks bjds but I tend to view them as their own collection with the exception of Suiseiseki and Hina Ichigo (Yuzuki will be included when she is complete).

I was feeling slightly mischievous when setting up the photo today and decided to sneak some questionable action in ^_-

Nothing like creating a little visual interest ^_-

Rin was getting a bit frisky with Erika as well :O I actually really like photographing the two of them together.

My intention had been to shoot everyone in the rose garden proper but the oppressive heat made me retreat to the shaded gazebo area.

Pullip Lunatic Alice Series

The October pullip and company releases have been announced. Jun Planning/Groove has always been rather fond of Alice in Wonderland, I am a fan myself so I can’t say I blame them. Jun Planning started with the Fantastic Alice pullip release way back in 2004, swiftly followed by the little pullip Alice pink and blue. Back in 2007, a limited Golden/Another Alice set of dolls were released including Another Alice, Another King, Another Queen, Another Card Soldier and Another Clock Rabbit. Over the past year a host of new mini pullips/dals have also been released including a new version of mini Alice, Dormouse, Card Soldier, Queen of Hearts, Humpty Dumpty, March Hare, Cheshire Cat,Clock Rabbit and Mad Hatter. While I am ecstatic they are releasing even more Alice-themed dolls I am somewhat disappointed that Groove seems to be neglecting the opportunity to move beyond Alice herself and give us a Cheshire or Dormouse pullip.

Pullip is the lunatic queen

Words can not adequately define my feelings towards her, she is the most excited I have been since an upcoming release since Kirakishou. She is perfectly quirky with her heart eyes counteracting her dark image. I love the juxtaposition of the soft and hard, she has a leather(like) top with a long skirt that is structured by crinoline.

I can not wait to get her in my hands, I am already so very much in love with her.

The Taeyang is the White Rabbit.

I am actually kind of mad about him in a way, there were some seriously awesome pictures of a Mad Hatter taeyang floating around that I think I would have preferred. He is pretty awesome looking, I almost see him becoming my Laplace Demon rather than another member of my Alice crew.. His eye piece is kind of intriguing but Eos’ fell apart after a day, I don’t expect this one will be much better

The dal is actually the titular Alice this time around. I am actually kind of glad she is a dal rather than a pullip, Jp/Groove has already released two pullip Alices and I have five different interpretations of the character in pullip form.

I happen to think she is pretty cute, I love her color scheme. I love her eye patch and her outfit although after the Eos debacle (mine’s stock disintegrated over the course of a few days) I am cautiously wondering what the quality of the stock is going to be like.

The byul is Humpty Dumpty, who appeared in Through the Looking Glass.

If not for the egg on her face (err head) I probably honestly would not have guessed that this was supposed to be Humpty Dumpty. The stock is a bit odd, something about it just bothers me maybe because it makes her look kind of pudgy. I like that they made another slightly darker in theme byul that isn’t as freak-ish as Lilith but still a bit menacing.

Honestly I am probably getting the whole set, byul and all. Worse yet, I don’t think I am quite done with my Alice collection even after these releases… twin byuls would make excellent Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum (they are supposed to be groteque).. then there is Dormouse….I don’t yet have a proper March Hare….

This picture was taken a long time ago, I need to take another with the entire crew soon it’s scary how much it grew..

Get- Fate/Stay Night Petit Nendoroids

These adorable little buggers arrived in the mail this morning (among other things like dolls).

I ordered a case from Hobbysearch, I ended up with a full set including the limited edition figure and a spare armor Saber. I went a little overboard with the pictures today.

Get- Aizu Rei Statue

What’s this another new anime figure? I got this Aizu Rei statue from Neon Genesis Evangelion in the mail on Saturday as well as one other figure. I have recently had some mail drama with my postman so I was kind of very glad that I was actually able to have them delivered on Saturday. I am hoping to get some pictures of the other figure today but I am not sure how probable it is because I left my camera battery charger at someone’s house and I don’t have much of a charge left in my camera… might have to go and retrieve it today.

After all these years, I am still a nut for anything Evangelion I can get my hands on. Normally I am more of an Asuka fan than a Rei fan, but I have always liked this figure and I haven’t had a new Rei figure in quite a while.
