Pullips and Junk

29/365 Byul Paulia Get

I decided to treat myself to a doll last week, I browsed Pullipstyle and even though they did in fact have pullips and dals in stock that I actually “needed” I chose to buy myself a byul. I have had my eye on Paulia for quite some time, she has always been one of my favorite byul releases but she tends to be out of stock frequently so when I finally saw her in stock I decided to go ahead and get her.

I do not regret my decision as she is full on adorable.

28/365 Imaginext Joker’s Funhouse

Fell a bit behind in keeping things up to date here, this was Friday’s picture of the day. During one of my walks through Toys R Us I found the Imaginext Joker’s Funhouse on on sale some time before Christmas. I already had received a different Imaginext Joker figure as a gag gift a while back but as soon as I saw the Funhouse I decided I would need it too. It was too hilarious not to pick up ^^;

I decided to name it the haha hacienda as that was an actual name for a Joker hideout at some point and with the giant Hahas everywhere it just seemed to fit. It does actually talk, it says something along the lines of “the jokes on you batman ::insane cackle:: “. Under further investigation there seems to be a couple of other kiddie Joker toys in this line that I don’t have yet.

27/365 Blu (Cinnamoroll Doll)

We, here on the east coast got another serious helping of snow in the past few days. I decided to take advantage of the powdery white stuff and go out and play in it as well as take some pictures. I decided to take one of my twin Cinnamorolls out with me to play in the snow as she matched the winter clothes I scavenged from one of my blythes best.

We have had so much snow lately that we are running out of places to put it all, it is piled up higher than myself in a lot of places now. In the picture below you can see my childhood swing set poking out of the snow.

26/365 Puffy Ami Yumi Ninja Toys

I’m not quite sure where these came from, I theorize they came from Wizzywig during one of my trips to Michigan but I found them in my bedroom while cleaning and hadn’t seen them before so I decided to feature them. They are from Puffy Ami Yumi cartoon that was Cartoon Network a couple years back, I actually liked the show and have a few random dvds (I seem to remember buying fairly large plushes of Ami and Yumi too) from it. One of my favorite episodes was the ninja episode where they become ninjas kind of ^^; Instead of the dehydrated monkey ninja master they have Hello Kitty as their ninja teacher.

25/365 Desk Photo

As I mentioned a few times already, I am in the process of completely rearranging my apartment. One of the first things that was done was putting my computer in a small nook off of the zilla’s toy room versus it’s old location which was directly in the toy room. Of course having my computer in the direct path of the zilla is not a good idea, she decimated my netbook and would randomly attack whatever was on my desk or steal my mouse. There is no divider between the two areas, this section is just a lot smaller than the main room I have just enough room for my desk basically. So far my moving out of the toy room proper has gone smoothly, the zilla has free reign she will come over into the nook when she wants but she isn’t as interested in the computer now that it isn’t directly in her playroom which is good news for me.

I kept my desk toys to somewhat of a minimum as to not attract the attention of the zilla. I have a Read or Dream wall scroll to my left, a Arkham Asylum Joker poster and Dark Knight film cells directly above me, another Dark Knight poster and Pulp Fiction poster to my slight right and then a Escaflowne movie wall scroll to my right with my purse hanging underneath it. I actually just got the Dark Knight film cell display shortly after Christmas last year. Also above is my FLCL Haruka plush that I got autographed by the Pillows at Anime Boston a few years ago.

Close up of my desk proper.. I have my official pullip calender on top of my computer as well as a one of the “Under the Red Hood” trade paperbacks which you can’t really see ^^; I just got around to watching the direct to dvd (well I have the Blu-ray) Under the Red Hood film that I got for Christmas, I was pretty happy with it even though it deviated from the comics somewhat I didn’t really care for the guy replacing Hamill as the Joker’s voice though.

Below I have volume 5 of Futurama which I am working my way through watching right now, I had actually watched Futurama throughout it’s entire tenure on Fox (through all of it’s amazing schedule changes >_<), I had been watching it on Cartoon Network and had picked up all the dvds and the new movies as soon as they came on Blu-ray but somehow I spaced on watching the new season as it was airing ^^; I also have my Junko Mizuno My Little Pony and my customized Emma Frost pullip on my desk at the moment. On the other side of my desk I have a Monster High doll (Gloom Beach Clawdeen) holding my new phone a Palm Pixi that just came today.

24/365 Blythe Prima Dolly Aubrina- Marmalade Maeve

I was supposed to give up blythe this year, well not really give up altogether as I am not selling my current ones but I had decided to do the one in/one out rule (I can’t buy anymore unless I sell/trade one of my current ones). I had kind of built myself in one exception- Simply Bubble Boom as she is a FBL which is a facemold I have never had and she has orange hair and well I love orange hair. I already fell off the blythe wagon and bought Prima Dolly Aubrina, she had been on my wishlist for years as in theory I should love her she is a redhead and she is my favorite mold RBL.

I admittedly have a love/hate relationship with blythes only about half of the ones that come in end up staying long term. I do like her but I am not sure I love her enough to keep her long term. I am not sure if my indifference is because I was absolutely smitten with my last two (V-smash and Cloud Bowl 9) the moment I saw them or if she is really just not meant to be. I will keep her around for a while and see if she grows on me, it is a pity as I think she is adorable I just don’t really feel anything towards her yet ^^;

23/365- SDCC Exclusive Monster High Frankie Stein Doll

Justice’s online store has somehow managed to acquire a number of the San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Monster High Frankie Stein doll. They originally had Frankie listed for $69.99 (which was still a bargain compared to the ebay prices which were at least twice that) but recently marked her down to $49.99, which is even better especially when there is a 40% off coupon coupon floating around the internet. I had purchased one previously when I had a 40% off coupon but somehow I couldn’t bring myself to debox my SDCC Frankie, when I noticed the marked down price I ordered a second one so I could have one to debox (and a Gloom Beach Clawdeen as I am lazy and didn’t feel like hunting in stores for her ^^;) and one to keep NRFB.

A couple of things to note about Justice’s online shop, first off they sign you up for their newsletter of girl’s teenybopper clothes etc if you order anything from their website which is kind of annoying and their packaging sucks. I understand their normal wares are mostly clothes which is for the most part not very fragile but my Gloom Beach Clawdeen’s box came massacred. Their prices without the coupon are also extremely high, higher than MSRP Gloom Beach Clawdeen for example is about $12.99 at Target/Walmart when she is stock and I believe $15.99 in Toys R’US, she is a whopping $29.99 which is like twice of her MSRP.

SDCC Frankie’s shtick is that she is grey-scale like the old black and white Frankenstein film. She is basically just a repaint, some of the information in her diary is slightly different than her non-limited counterpart’s supposedly but I haven’t read either myself ^^;

21/365- Kuroshitsuji Private Tutor Sebastian Michaelis Taeyang

I just recently bought Sebastian, he was the last of the Kuroshitsuji pullip line that I didn’t own and I have had my eye on him for a long while. I picked him as a part of a package deal with a pullip (who will eventually become my Catwoman). Kuroshitsuji was one of the few animes, I actually sat down and watched somewhat recently as I wanted to know more about the show if there was a pullip line involved. The show was entertaining to me but I still didn’t manage to make my way through all of it before getting distracted by something else.

He seems more wicked to me than the regular butler version of Sebastian even without the intense eyes there is just something slightly menacing about him. I need to take more photos of him as well as some photos with him and his fellow Kuroshitsuji cast-mates (especially with the other Sebastian) ^^; I tend to draw a blank when photographing male dolls, I have a really hard time with it as I somehow always seem to unintentionally pose them a bit too femininely.

20/365- Chobits Chii Gashapon

As I touched on in one of my previous entries, I am currently in the process of completely rearranging my apartment right now. Due to my desire to move my comics collection and the limited availability of other available places, I decided to move my Chobits collection out of the doll room and into my bedroom. For some reason having a large display of Chobits stuff in your bedroom is more socially acceptable than having a mini-shrine to the Joker .

I ended up finally deboxing all of my Americanized Chobits gashapon as a part of the moving process. I bought them from ~~Borders~~ Walden Books years ago and was quite happy to keep them sealed but two of the boxes had become water damaged and I didn’t want to debox some and leave other nrfb so I deboxed them all. I was originally planning on taking a picture of all of them together for the picture of the day but instead I decided to just use a picture of the Chii figure in pajamas from the set.

19/365- Bandai Asuka Maid Figure

I picked this Asuka figure up this past fall. I haven’t been buying as many Evangelion figures especially since I got all three of the newer Evangelion Dollfie Dreams (not counting the older Rei releases for our purposes here). The Rei DD has still yet to be deboxed and will probably not be deboxed until the doll room is complete in the next few weeks so we have a little bit more room to work with. I picked this particular figure up, shortly after getting the Asuka Dollfie Dream when I realized I didn’t have any Asuka figures in her coordinating outfit. I decided to photograph her as I realized that I had never actually taken any pictures of her ^^;
