I had the day off of work today and I had the sudden realization that I had not been to Animadness in quite some time so I decided to take a bit of a road trip today. Animadness is located in Waltham, MA which is unfortunately about a four hour round trip for me. I am thankful the store is there, it is absolutely awesome but at the same time I wish it was slightly closer.

51/365- More Nendoroids Please!

I haven’t been buying anime figures lately; I used to buy anime figures quite frequently but I started to focus more on dolls and increasingly lost interest in figures especially with rapidly rising prices and my overall lack of space in the apartment for more figures. Lately, I have been having a bit of an itch and been looking at more anime figures as well as pinky street lately. I decided to go ahead and order two pinky street, only I hate to pay as much for shipping as for the item itself so I decided adding a nendoroid to the order wouldn’t hurt. One nendoroid quickly turned into two and well then it seemed silly not to get a third one as well.  51/365- Buy more nendoroids or else!
For those curious, I ended up ordering the Feena Fam Earthlight nendoroid as well as Azusa and Komugi both from K-on!. Soon after I made my order I really began looking at more recent anime figure releases that I had missed out on and made some massive additions to my wishlist on Myfigurecollection.net. I’m considering buying some more figures next month but I will wait until I get these in and see how much fun I have playing with them before I go too nuts.

50/365 Get- Bianca Pullip

Pullip Bianca arrived earlier in the week alongside my Mikuru Dollfie Dream. Unlike Mikuru who received a warm welcome from her counterpart Suzumiya, Bianca received somewhat of a chilly reception from her counterparts the Noir triplets (Anarchy, Mayhem and Madness).

Bianca is a limited edition pullip, she is designed to be a light version of the super popular Noir pullip. She was only available through Magma Heritage, a doll shop in Singapore. Bianca, was the first of the three Magma Heritage exclusive pullips; all of the Magma Heritage exclusives were essentially palette swaps (plus some slight variations in wig length) of a regular release Nero/Oren, Moon/Mitzi and Noir/Bianca.

Preorder- LE Snow Miku Pullip

Groove Inc has  announced a limited edition snow version of the Miku pullip from Vocaloid. Groove had already announced the releases of a Miku pullip in April as well as Dals of Rin and Len, rumors have been circulating about a future Luka Pullip as well as a Kaito Taeyang.  I have always been partial to Snow Miku, I have the original nendoroid iteration of her and it is quite possibly my favorite nendoroid. I would be lying if I said that I had not been secretly hoping for a Snow Miku pullip.

Groove first teased us with an adorable illustration of snow Miku in the beginning of February which was quickly followed by somewhat unimpressive promo shots of the doll itself. The doll itself is gorgeous but the pictures they have released of her so far remind more of owner photos taken with a cell phone rather than promotional photos.

It has since been revealed that Snow Miku is going to be limited to 1000 which may seem like a lot until the sheer popularity of Vocaloid  is realized. Reservations started in Sapporo at the 62nd annual Sapporo Snow Festival- Pics from the festival can be seen on Groove’s Blog- link . Snow Miku will not be released until June. For a limited window of time, some additional preorders were available online through Groove’s site I had attempted to navigate through but to no avail (it did not seem to like international shipping ^^;). I had a heard a rumor that an extremely limited number of preorders were open through a Hong Kong shop. I emailed them and was lucky enough to grab one of the preorder slots (just paid my deposit!).

May Pullip & Company Releases- Dollte Porte

The group shot of May’s Dollte Porte releases has actually been floating around for a few weeks, I chose to wait until photos of the individual releases became available before mentioning them here. Dollte Porte

An official statement from Groove mentions that Mango Park (pullip’s designer) will be creating a people sized clothing brand based on these releases clothing link.  I will admit, I am a bit skeptical of the success of the potential clothing brand based on these doll’s designs of course that could just be my bitterness about most Japanese clothing not fitting my bust ^^;

Get- J-doll Joseph Splatz

Earlier in the week, I was browsing eBay for some decidedly non-dolly items (I was looking into replacing some Batman: The Animated Series toys I had as a kid) when I decided to look at J-dolls. I had always been pretty partial to Joseph Splatz (I love fantasy hair colors) and I found her at a very reasonable price ($40 shipped) so I could not resist.

49/365- Dollfie Dream Suzumiya welcomes Dollfie Dream Mikuru

Mikuru is my 18th Dollfie Dream, I had actually been on the hunt for a Mikuru DD for a long while but something else always managed to pop up and distract me. The most recent distraction was the lovely Nia, I had literally been shopping for Mikuru when a Nia popped up at a good price Nia is a lot harder to find up for sale so I pounced on her.  Of course, as much as I love Nia I regretted pushing Mikuru to the side again to get her so I ended up deciding to get Mikuru as well with the understanding that I not buy anymore DD until at least October. The no more DD until October resolution already got hit out of the park, DD #19 should be here on Tuesday and I am already eying the Kudo MDD from the upcoming dolpa.

48/365- DD Suzumiya’s package finally arrives

According to tracking DHL should have delivered Suzumiya’s package yesterday, tracking was frantically checked and rechecked but to no avail. The package was on hold and well DHL is a bit hard to get in contact with, for whatever reason the package didn’t make it in time yesterday and was instead delivered today.

Of course now that Suzumiya’s package has arrived, Suzumiya does not really seem to be in any great hurry to help her dear friend Mikuru out of the package.

47/365 Nightmare Before Christmas

I recently finished resetting up my Nightmare Before Christmas display. This isn’t all of my Nightmare Before Christmas stuff, I actually have another few boxes of various merchandise I have acquired over the years.  It has been kind of a long standing tradition, that every year for Christmas I receive at least one Nightmare Before Christmas thing from friends/family.

This year was the first year that I actually did not receive a Nightmare Before Christmas gift :O I recently went to FYE and rejoiced in a few NBC clearance items though including the larger Pumpkin Jack bobblehead and the plush seen in the picture. Somewhat ironically, I actually just got a Jack and Sally Kubrick set today as a gift.
