121/365- Vocaloid Miku Nendoroid Orchestra Version

A few days ago I finally opened up one of my very favorite birthday presents, the new Vocaloid Full Action Miku Nendoroid.
121/365- Absolute HMO Vocaloid Miku
I love her so much in fact she already managed to get herself a place of honor on my desk, which also kind of reminds me that I should take a picture of my newest desk arrangement as I haven’t in quite some time.

120/365- Dal Joujou

Dal Joujou was March’s dal and she was part of a new collaboration set with Angelic Pretty. I preordered her through Entertainment Earth during their buy one get one half off doll special, even with the sale her and dal Ra Muw only ended up slightly cheaper than if I had bought through Pullipstyle but it did have the added benefit of not having to be prepaid.

I decided to name her Rini after Chibiusa’s character in the bastardized American Sailor Moon dub as her hair was reminiscent of hers. I toyed with the idea of just naming her Chibiusa but it didn’t seem to fit her quite so well.

118/365- Poison Ivy

When I was a kid I loved Batman the Animated Series, ever since my love of Batman (well of Joker really) got rekindled I’ve been slowly collecting various toys/figures/statues with a particular focus on stuff from the animated series. Some of the stuff is easier to find than others, I’d actually seen this Poison Ivy  statue in a few stores before getting this one from Wonderland Comics so she was easy but others are proving quite vexing. I have Poison Ivy number 16 of 2100.
118/365- Poison Ivy Statue
This statue of Poison Ivy is lovely and it’s a great representation of her animated series character design but the pose is kind of odd and can be very limiting when it comes to photography.

As much as I love this statue, I hate that her hand just kind of disappears into her hair it just seems so lazy to me.

Romantic Alice Pullip set announced

Starting in July, Groove Inc will be releasing a new line of Pullip & company based on Alice in Wonderland. Groove Inc (and Jun Planning before it) really seems to love Alice in Wonderland, over the years they have released Fantastic Alice, the Another Alice set (Another Alice, Another Queen, Another King, Another Soldier Rabbit & Another Clock Rabbit), the Lunatic Alice series (Lunatic Alice, Lunatic White Rabbit, Lunatic Humpty Dumpty and Lonely Queen) and two different series of mini Alices; arguments can be made about Puki also being an Alice in Wonderland based doll as well. I’m personally a huge Alice in Wonderland fan so I am not actually put off by the idea of more Alice dolls, however I wish they would have chose some new characters to feature we still haven’t seen a full sized Cheshire Cat doll or even a Dormouse.

From right to left: Pullip- Romantic Alice, Isul- unknown (possibly knave of hearts), Taeyang- Mad Hatter, Byul- Queen and Dal- unknown (white rabbit or rabbit soldier perhaps?)

Pullip, Byul and Taeyang are slated for a July release, Isul and Dal are to be released at a later date during the year. The MSRP for the dolls is going to be 13,650 yen each, with current conversion will be over $165 each. I hope Pullipstyle is able to offer them at a bit more affordable pricing.

Sengoku Basara Line of Pullips and Company

I was going to blog the new series of Romantic Alice dolls but then it occurred to me that I had neglected to blog June’s releases ^^; June’s line of dolls is based off the Sengoku Basara series of video games, I have to admit I’m a bit puzzled by this release choice. I am just not sure what their target audience is with these, maybe to appeal to a larger audience? The dolls don’t seem all that popular within the pullip community itself. I think what annoys me the most is that all the characters they chose to turn into dolls seem to be male, there are female characters within the series but again we have the majority of the dolls crossdressing (not that there is anything inherently wrong with crossdressing, I just prefer my dolls not to).

From left to right we have Taeyang as Chousokabe Motochika, Dal as Sanada Yukimura, Pullip as Date Masamune, Byul as Sarutobi Sasuke and Isul as Mouri Motonari.

New series of Little Pullips announced Docolla- Kuroshitsuji

Groove has announced that they will be starting a new line of mini pullips (and company) called Docolla (Doll + Collaboration). The first line is set to be released in July and features characters from Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji.  The second line of Docolla  is strongly rumored to be Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (basically just waiting on a release date and official photos for confirmation).

The first three releases in the line will be Little Pullip Grell, Little Dal Ciel and Little Taeyang Sebastian; they appear to just be shrunken down version of the larger Kuroshitsuji releases.

Sebastian will be the first ever little Taeyang release, I’m betting he will be popular both from the novelty of his being the first little Taeyang and the massive popularity of the character Sebastian (the original version of which has already sold out!).

Price-wise these guys are looking to be about $5 more than standard little pullips. Considering I have all the other Kuroshitsuji dolls it would be a same not to complete the set so I will more than likely be getting all three eventually.

117/365- Fakie Kirakishou Pullip

I recently purchased two Japanese pullip customs, they both arrived yesterday. The one that had originally sparked my interest was a fakie Kirakishou custom. Kirakishou is a character from Rozen Maiden, when the released the pullip line based on the characters of the show (way back in 2006-2008) they decided to release Kirakishou in only a limited number. Unfortunately she is very popular so her price soared on the after market. Because of the lack availability and price, quite a few people made custom version of Kirakishou I’ve seen a handful of the fakie Kiras before but this one really caught my eye.
117/365- Faux Kira
In the manga, Kirakishou actually lacks a right eye and a white rose grows out of the eye socket instead. The official pullip release of Kirakishou has a rose eyepatch that simply covers the eye, the custom actually has a (fake) white rose where the right eye should be.
Kira fakie
I love her face up.

Couple more pictures of Fakie Kirakishou and the other new custom girl under the cut

116/365- Many Vocaloid Mikus

I decided to have some additional fun with my Vocaloid Miku pullip by photographing her with some of my other Miku toys (not all of them ^^;).
116/365- Many Mikus
I figure if nothing else this should give some people who are unfamiliar with pullip but love Miku an idea of scale compared to the various figures.

115/365- Vocaloid Miku Pullip

Vocaloid Miku pullip is finally home. I just got Miku today from Pullipstyle but I have the entire set (including a second Miku) coming from Entertainment Earth next month, and a limited edition snow Miku coming from Toymalayasia in June.
115/365 Miku
I have been wanting a Miku pullip since before she was announced, I had long term plans to have a custom of her made but now that there is an official release I will probably scrap them. I am just so happy to finally have her in my hands.
