Mini Lalaloopsies

I really am trying to keep focused with collecting American toys, really I just want to collect Batman toys, My Little Pony-Friendship is Magic toys and Monster High dolls and that’s it… I really like Lalaloopsies and they are unfortunately they are almost always next to the My Little Ponies in the store . I’ve thankfully been pretty good with not be tempted by the larger ones as they are well large and I really don’t have the space to accommodate a collection of them unfortunately they also make minis.

The minis are all kinds of adorable and the best part is they are tiny, they take up like no space whatsoever so I can have however many I want.

Pullip Papin (Pinkamena)

I’ve actually had Pinakmena for a few months, I bought her as a bait Papin head with the intention to fix her up. Pinkamena isn’t quite finished but I thought her being a bit rough around the edges fit her character so I finally decided to take some pictures of her.

Papin is my favorite Pullip, part of the reason why is she is just versatile. Pinkamena is by far my most modified Papin, normally I just rewig and possibly rebody. Pinkamena came to me with these chips which were really striking so even though I had a spare set of stock Papin chips (Papin has my favorite stock chips) set aside I decided to keep them.

Mad Love Joker & Harley Quinn Figures

After taking a little bit of a break from comic reading while I was focusing on reading and then rereading the A Song of Fire and Ice book series (which coincidentally is becoming a comic book as well in the not to distant future) I caught up over this past weekend. I finally read through the end of Gotham City Sirens (a bit disappointing) as well as Batman and all of the Arkham City comic, I also read through a whole stack of new trade paperbacks including the new Red Hood book among other things.

What resparked my interest? well other than the release of Catwoman and Batgirl Pullips while hunting down the later Monster High doll release I happened to go over to the action figure aisle and notice a new Matty Collector box set of figures featuring Joker and Harley Quinn. I was completely blindsided, I missed whatever announcement there was about these being released I absolutely love Joker and Harley Quinn, hell Mad Love is one of my all-time favorite comics so I immediately pounced on them. They had two sets, I would have bought both (one to keep in the box, one to take out) but one of the Harley Quinns had a major paint issue if I notice the set at my local TRU I am definitely picking up another set.

I kind of wish Harley Quinn’s joints were a bit more forgiving so I could have copied the pose on the cover of Mad Love more effectively.

New My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Toys

I kind of had my mind made up that on the way back from Michigan, I was going to find a Monster High Abbey Bombinable in one of the Toys R Us we passed by. I never did find Abbey (I did find her two days after our return at our local TRU) but I did find some other things including new ponies from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

From right to left we have Lulu Luck, Dewdrop Dazzle, Cupcake and Blossomforth.

I also picked up Rarity’s Carousel Boutique shortly after returning home, I really like it although I wish it was a bit more reasonably priced I think $25 would have been a more reasonable price versus $30 for it (it did come with two ponies but still) maybe I am just annoyed that I had to buy two of the damn things.

Pullip Prupate (Carnivàle)

I recently purchased Pullip Prupate from Pullipstyle, I was extremely fortunate to find her in the dentbox section. Prupate was part of the second round of Angelic Pretty collaborations that were released earlier this year (she was released alongside Sucre and Joujou).

Prupate makes me think of a crazy cross between a circus ringleader and a sweet lolita girl, I decided to name her Carnivàle.

Wonder Festival Exclusive Batgirl and Catwoman Pullips

Much to my surprise the Wonder Festival versions of the Catwoman and Batgirl Pullips arrived yesterday, they arrived way earlier than I had anticipated (before their SDCC counterparts even!). I bought the pair from Toy Malaysia, I paid just about $300 with shipping which I felt was pretty reasonable (with the yen conversion if I had bought them at Amiami they would have been like $175 each before shipping).

I had been dying to get my hands on Batgirl and Catwoman, I’m a huge DC fan and I love Pullips I could not be happier with the marriage of the two. I even took a picture of the newcomers in with a few of my other custom DC girls Harley Quinn and Duela Dent..

Batgirl had thought that she had finally managed to save the day, unfortunately she forgot that the villains tend to outnumber the heroes around here.

My Little Pony- Friendship is Magic Ponyville

While visiting relatives in Michigan recently, I went to one of the local chain stores called Meijer’s much to my surprise and delight I found the Ponyville-style of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic series there. While I have seen the set before online (normally with insane pricing like $30 after shipping) I had never seen it locally in New England so I was very pleased that I found them, especially since they were only $10 + tax.

The four pack includes Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle and Rarity; there have been no US releases of Applejack and Fluttershy as of yet (I think these are more or less the same as the European blind box mlp but I’m not 100% certain on that). Supposedly a larger set of the Ponyville-style ponies is going to be exclusive to TRU in the not to distant future but with how much things had been delayed with the third wave of MLP:FiM toys I’m not going to hold my breath.

Steampunk Byul Rhiannon

I recently purchased Steampunk Byul Rhiannon as well as Dollte Porte Isul Vesselle and some Pullip puzzles from HLJ during their Groove Inc sale. All told after conversion and ems shipping the order ended up costing around $200, not too bad. I had, had my eye on the Steampunk Byul since she was announced but I try to prioritize purchasing Pullip and Dal so I hadn’t quite gotten around to getting her yet; the sale seemed like an excellent excuse to finally buy Rhiannon.

I named my Rhiannon, Nehalem as I’m honestly out of even somewhat normal names at this point. After a week without a name, I was listening to Everclear when the song Nehalem came on and somehow it just seemed to fit her. Continue reading →

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Luna and Celestia Toys

New My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic toys have started showing up in stores here in the states. I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge new MLP display in Target during a recent trip there, apparently several of the new toys are a part of the Canterlot collection which is a Target exclusive. Items range from various pony toys, art kits, child sized tshirts (which I, of course had to get for the zilla), dress up stuff and some animatronic pony toys (which personally scare the living hell out of me).

My personal favorite of the new toys released is the Celestia and Luna two-pack of fashion styling ponies.More pictures under the cut..

Exclusive Halloween Pullip and Isul

Groove Inc is releasing two limited Halloween dolls this September; a Jack o’lantern themed Isul named Sith and a Trick or Treat themed Pullip named Banshee. They will have a MSRP of 13,650 yen each which with current exchange rate is a staggering $177 each before shipping, I’m hoping that Pullipstyle will able to offer them for a reasonable price.

Banshee is absolutely lovely, I really love her whole concept. She is quite unique, with her blond/lilac wig and her unusual face up. Her stock is pretty awesome too, luckily I love Halloween so as impractical as it is to have her in her stock year round it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

I love, love the Pullip and will jump through whatever hoops necessary to attain her.

Sith is quite possibly the frowniest Isul released so far,it suits the release though. I really like his stock outfit, I hope the quality is decent.

While I am getting the Pullip no matter, what the Isul will be more dependent on what price I find him at. I really like him but not enough to pay $200 with shipping from Japan or more.
