BJD Anthro Get!

A couple of weeks ago now, I welcomed the newest addition to my bjd family home. I’ve admittedly had very mixed feelings about Anthro bjds over the years, I absolutely loved some but hated others the only thing they all seemed to have in common was the fact that they all seemed to have such personalities in photos. Although I had been tempted by several different anthros, Dollfactory Bobo the 3rd edition is the one I finally decided on under the theory that she would fit in wonderfully with my rather extended Alice in Wonderland doll family as my Dormouse. I was lucky enough to order the last one in stock at Denverdoll before they stopped carrying Dollfactory dolls.

I’m glad I took the plunge as I absolutely adore her. While she is officially known as Dormouse, she has also managed to pick up the nickname “Mighty Mouse”.

Pullip Bloody Red Hood

Pullip Bloody Red Hood was released last month, she is a collaboration between Groove Inc and Mitsubachi@BabyBee x CrankyGel . I ordered her from Pullipstyle once they got their restocks in and she just arrived yesterday. I deboxed her today and took some photos.

Bloody Red Hood is actually the second Pullip based on Little Red Riding Hood, the original release aptly named Little Red Riding Hood came out way back in 2004.

Catching up and October= Empty Wallet Event

I’ve been crazy busy as well as sick lately so I’m afraid updating this site kind of took a backseat for a little while again. I’m going to try my best to caught up in the coming week.

Now unto more current events…

I’m working on funds raising towards for the Volks Type Moon x Dollfie Dream collaboration web-order event right now. For those who don’t already know, Volks is offering two new versions of Saber Dollfie Dreams via web-0rder (not via lottery- guaranteed) but they are only available for a limited amount of time. I, of course fell head over heels with Saber Alter 2nd Version and Fate/EXTRA Saber and decided I would absolutely need the pair. Fuck my wallet.

The need for both of the new Saber DDs really got me thinking about what I would sacrifice in order to obtain them, after some careful thought and consideration I decided I was going to go through and do a dolly cull. I went through and made a short-list of which dolls weren’t really working out for me quite the way I wanted them to and posted a sales thread on Friday. So far, I’ve already raised about $800 just from doll sales this weekend (and a few of my other dolls are on hold/pending payment). Honestly, I did not things to work out so well so quickly I’m already more than halfway to my goal and have more than enough to preorder one of the Sabers. My plan is to preorder Saber Alter 2nd version later this week, as I admittedly have a slightly preference towards her (I really love both but if I could only get one, she would be it). Once Saber Alter 2nd version’s preorder has been confirmed, I will focus all my energy on raising the additional funds needed for Fate/Extra Saber.

As, if the Volks DD web-order event wasn’t bad enough for my wallet Fairyland is also holding an event right now. They announced several new BJDs and I thought I was safe and then I saw their new Littlefee, Rolly. Littlefee/Yo-SD are my favorite bjd size so they are always the most tempting to me in general but their is just something really special about Rolly. So in addition to funding both of the Saber DDs I’m also going to try and least scrap together the cash for a deposit on her.

So with the Volks and the Fairyland events running concurrently October will indeed be my own personal empty wallet event. I will probably be making a doll sales post here later in the week, once I handle getting the current batch of dolls that have sold out in the mail as I don’t want to overwhelm myself too much by doing too much at once.

Animadness visit

I went to visit Requiemart this past weekend and we took a run up to Animadness together. Animadness is located in Waltham, MA and they are an anime figure store that also happens to sell Pullips. Animadness is having a sale this month to make room for new stuff, everything in-store is on sale (figures and dolls are 10% off) so it seemed like a good excuse for a visit. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so no new store pictures this time around but there are plenty of pictures of the store on my flickr from my previous visits.

So what did I get? Three nendoroids, three little Pullips and an anime plush.

Dal Darony

I finally bought Dal Darony from Pullipstyle recently. As much as I loved the Dal ever since prototype photos of her first surfaced I loathed her stock after unsuccessfully trying to find a split partner, I found her in the dentbox section on Pullipstyle and finally caved and bought her. I’m really glad I did because once she is outside of her stock she is downright adorable.

Since she did come in a dog suit, I decided to name her after one of my childhood pets so her name is Shadow.

Dal Clair

While I’ve actually had Dal Clair since last December, I just recently realized that somehow I never took any pictures of her. Once I realized I didn’t have any pictures of this cutie, I decided I had to get some posthaste.

Clair was one of the dolls released as a part of a collaboration with Innocent World last year, I actually didn’t really care for her lolita stock (something about the coloring of her stock seemed off to me) so I bought her nude and put her in some handmade clothing instead.

Pullip Paja x Rex

Toy Story is a favorite movie of the Zilla’s and since she has a weakness for dinosaur/Godzilla toys when I saw the Big Roarin” Rex made by Fischer Price I just had to get it for her. Once I got it home, I kind of had the idea that Rex and Paja should take some pictures together so with the Zilla’s permission I borrowed Rex for a little while.

Pullip Paja is still one of my favorite Pullip releases, their is just something so perfect about a Pullip in a dino costume. Paja was released way back in 2005, she was the first Pullip ever to go from being first being released as a mini Pullip to eventually getting a full-sized release. Continue reading →

Lucky Star Miyuki Figure

I got this Miyuki figure from Lucky Star on my birthday, earlier this year but I just got around to deboxing her. She was made by Sega Prize and was released alongside a figure of Tsukasa. Miyuki is cosplaying Mikuru of Melancholy of Suzumiya, the Tsukasa figure she was released with cosplays as Yuki.

I love her nervous expression, coupled with the oversized glasses it is really just way too adorable.

Monster High Abbey Bombinable

I recently went to Michigan, after hearing reports that there had been sightings of the newest Monster High doll Abbey Bombinable I decided that I was going to find her on my way back from Michigan even if it meant stopping at every Toys R Us we drove by on the way. While I did find some other nifty things like the Mad Love Joker and Harley Quinn two-pack of figures as well as new My Little Pony Friendship is Magic toys, I never did find Abbey that is until I got home… A few days after our return I stopped at our local Toys R Us after work, I had planned on being there at opening but I still felt kind of discouraged so I decided not to and only stopped there after work as almost an afterthought- I’m glad I did, I not only found Abbey but I found two of them (the other is going to my dolly bff).

Abbey Bombinable is the daughter of the yeti, she is the twelfth character introduced in doll form.

Evangelion Witches

I’ve had these witch figures of Rei and Asuka for almost five years now. They were released by Sega Prize way back in November of 2006, in 2008 a new version of these figures “Okama” were released with new face sculpts and slightly different poses.

Over the years, countless figures of Rei and Asuka figures have been rereleased with different themes it’s really kind of amazing. If I remember correctly, I picked up this set at Rising Sun Creations. These came out exceptionally well for Sega Prize figures, I was particularly impressed with Asuka’s fun pose and the way the bases were sculpted.
