Monster High: Picture Day!

It’s been a really, really long time since my last post focusing on the freaky yet fabulous Monster High dolls almost a year in fact. I never stopped collecting them, in fact I have all of the dolls released as of 2012 though I am missing most of the absolute newest dolls that just started shipping to stores.

I just recently got around to photographing the Picture Day set of dolls over the past week or so, I received them for Christmas but hadn’t gotten around to photographing them to just now.

My Little Headphones and other pony goodness!

It’s been a while since my last My Little Pony-centric post and since I am trying to be more proactive about posting here, I figured it was time for a pony-centric post.

One of my favorite Christmas presents this past year was a new set of headphones as my old Gir ones finally died on me 😦 They are rainbow-riffic!

Arrival- Pullip Pere Noel

Pullip Pere Noel was one of the dozen Pullip releases last month, I am of course kidding Pere Noel was one of only seven new Pullips released last month. Pere Noel was one of the releases for this year’s Doll Carnival and was also used for Matsuya Ginza Department Store’s 2012 Christmas that included a life-sized (well 150 cm) version of Pere Noel – pics can be seen here.

Under the sparkling holy sky… Swiftly dance on the dream stage…Feel Like So.

Pere Noel was designed by Asami Kiyokawa who is famous for their ability to embroider photographs.

Arrival- Pullip Regeneration Principessa

To celebrate the New Year, Groove offered a FUKUBUKURO or lucky bag event through their website. The Lucky Bags consisted of various dolls from the Pullip family; the buyer got to choose which dolls they received and were available in two, three, four or eight doll quantities. Those lucky enough to buy the eight doll lucky bag also got to pick one doll off a rare doll list.

When I initially heard about the event, I honestly did not think the bags would be quite so lucky and would only consist of mostly undesirable dolls so I didn’t plan on ordering anything. When I saw the list of available Pullips it was already too late for me to order the eight doll option as I may have ordered a doll from Latidoll’s Snow Queen ordering period and wouldn’t you know it Fairyland just released a new LE Littlefee that I had to have so my petty fund was pretty much already cleared out. Luckily, somehow I was able to put together the funding for a three doll lucky bag which arrived today. My three choices were Victorique, Pulliphine and Regeneration Principessa.

Wreck-it Ralph! Vanellope von Schweetz toy edition

Being a parent of a preschooler kind of limits my ability to go to the cinema like I used to, most of my film choices are based around what cartoon currently playing in theaters the zilla might actually have a chance of sitting all the way through. I took her to go see Wreck-it Ralph when it first came out in theaters and we both absolutely loved it, I was particularly enthralled by the designs for the Sugar Rush characters especially Vanellope von Schweetz.

At first, I was just going to buy one Vanellope toy but who was I was kidding, right? She is adorable, I couldn’t help myself.

DC x Bishoujo Harley Quinn

A fairly large sized package arrived this morning from Bigbadtoystore, the most interesting item contained within was the lovely DC x Bishoujo Harley Quinn figure by Kotobukiya. Hopefully I will be able to photograph her alongside Gotham City Sirens alums Poison Ivy and Catwoman who have already been released in the DC x Bishoujo line soon (I have Batgirl too).

I am a huge fan of Harley Quinn so of course, I was powerless to resist her even though I had some misgivings about the promo photos luckily they decided to include a painted face plate (ie. white) as well as the normal faceplate. I loved the painted face plate so much that I didn’t even bother photographing her with the other one even though it is the default.

Helter Skelter Pullip Ririko

I just finished reading the Helter Skelter manga last night, though I am not the biggest fan of the art style I thoroughly enjoyed the story even if it’s slightly disturbing. A film based on the manga came out in theaters over the summer and is being released on dvd/blu-ray later this month- you can view the trailer here . Pullip released a LE500 special collaboration doll of the main character Ririko in her iconic red dress that she wears during the film.

I bought Ririko from PullipDollDreams , it was my first time ordering from them though I had been aware of them for a while now. They happened to be the only US store with Ririko in stock when I was ready to order, I’m not exactly known for my patience so I decided to give them a shot and order from them. I was very impressed with the transaction Ririko was shipped out that day and was packaged very well (she even came wrapped in a bow) though Pullipstyle and Popfuzz will remain my primary pullip purveyors I would also recommend PDD without hesitation and will more than likely shop there myself again.

NYCC Exclusive Harley Quinn Pullip

As I mentioned previously here, for the first time ever Groove released a New York Comic Con exclusive Pullip this year and in even better news it is the one and only Harley Quinn! Harley Quinn actually arrived last weekend via the very awesome Popfuzz unfortunately work and other activities have been keeping busy during the fleeting and few daylight hours so I didn’t really have a chance to get any decent photos of her until today.

Any of my normal readers probably already know this but for any newbies reading this- I am a huge fan of Harley Quinn, so much so I actually had a custom Harley Quinn Pullip by Requiemart commissioned a few years back. I love and adore my custom Harley Quinn as well as the official release but my favorite is still the custom with her killer grin ^^;

My Little Addiction: My Little Pony

Or how the doll room just got 20% cooler. Or the doll room is now the room with a moose (because I love Zim). I collected My Little Pony as a child but came into contact with Friendship is Magic a little over a year ago and that sparked something….. somewhat of an addiction really to brightly colored plastic toy horses with symbols on their hips.

Please excuse the flash photography, the doll room has been fitted with blackout curtains and is completely devoid of natural light for the safety of some of it’s more light sensitive resident ie. the bjds.

Anime/doll fans have no fear, I have a gigantic backlog of sets of photos to post here and that is my problem I never really know where to start once I get a backlog so I figured to get the ball rolling I would do a pony post and at least take care of the simplest thing first ^^; Sadly there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day anymore, I am hoping to at the very least get my new Saber Dollfie Dreams introduced here tomorrow.

When Fandoms Collide: My Little Harley Quinn & Joker

Lately it seems like My Little Pony has become my little addiction and I’ve always loved Joker and Harley Quinn so when I found the two combined, I was powerless to resist.

My Little Joker and Harley Quinn were made by Coinoperatedcustoms, they also made a Batman and Robin which is now available on their etsy shop. I would have bought them too but sadly I have already exceeded my MLP budget but if they hang around much longer I have a feeling Joker and Harley Quinn will be getting some ~~torture victims~~ playmates.

I couldn’t be happier with the pair, they are pony perfection.

An unexpected bonus, it turns out that they are just about the right size to make the Imaginext Joker’s Funhouse their new haha hacienda!
