Or how the doll room just got 20% cooler. Or the doll room is now the room with a moose (because I love Zim). I collected My Little Pony as a child but came into contact with Friendship is Magic a little over a year ago and that sparked something….. somewhat of an addiction really to brightly colored plastic toy horses with symbols on their hips.
Please excuse the flash photography, the doll room has been fitted with blackout curtains and is completely devoid of natural light for the safety of some of it’s more light sensitive resident ie. the bjds.
Anime/doll fans have no fear, I have a gigantic backlog of sets of photos to post here and that is my problem I never really know where to start once I get a backlog so I figured to get the ball rolling I would do a pony post and at least take care of the simplest thing first ^^; Sadly there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day anymore, I am hoping to at the very least get my new Saber Dollfie Dreams introduced here tomorrow.
G1s
G1 are what I played with as a child, I still have most if not all of my childhood G1s somewhere lost in the depths of my grandparent’s attic none of these are my actual childhood herd. I had several hundred My Little Ponies as a child so I decided to not recreate my childhood herd for my own sanity and instead to focus on childhood favorites and a few select others that peaked my interest like the My Little Pony Friends/Pretty Pal Lines. Eventually I’d love to add a Bowtie, Parasol and tons more babies (especially baby Bowtie) to my collection.
My comics collection is just beyond the G1s on the other side of the room, somehow one of my Joker plushes managed to sneak into the shot of the G1s.

G3
I will admit that I had a single G3 for quite a while, the pony in question is the Junko Mizuno Art Pony who I bought because well I love Junko Mizuno’s disturbing but also very cute artwork. She is not in the picture because she lives on my desk, all of her friends that are in the picture well they have all been acquired over the last six months or so.
I hope to someday own a complete set of the G3 SDCC and Art Ponies, I’d also love more Fair exclusive ponies and customs. There are still a few other normal releases I would love to add to my herd unfortunately space is very much of the limited. To maximize what space I do have for display for G1s and G3s, I ended up using nendoroid boxes as risers. The nendo boxes were a good size for what I needed and I had about 100 of them doing nothing but taking up space as I didn’t have the heart to throw them away.

Before we dissect the shelves let’s look at some of the other stuff on the wall that didn’t make it into the picture..
Next to the largest pony shelf I have some duplicate NRFB MLP hanging on the wall as well as the crystal keychains. How do I get so many duplicates? I tend to order by the case from stores like BBTS and I almost always end up with a spare mane six or two.
Above the G1 Lullabye Nursery I mounted a few things on the wall and because necessity is the mother of all invention those things are a curtain rod and a drawer divider. My biggest issue with collecting the blind bags is display, as they are lots of little things after some experimenting and looking at a number of different things (spice racks, nail polish racks, collapsible shelves) I finally found a drawer divider in Target that I liked for pretty cheap. The dividers worked out fairly well, there are 24 ponies per a blind bag case and I can comfortably fit at least nine ponies per shelf and I even managed to mount one to the wall without much of a fuss via 3M. I currently have the full fourth wave of blind bags as well as the Target Exclusive Rainbow set of glitter minis on display.
The 2012 line of McD were keychains, since they looked a bit silly sitting on the shelves because of the giant keyrings I decided to try something a little different to display them- I used a curtain rod. The curtain rod was cheap like maybe $2 at Walmart since it looked a little plain and I was a bit bored one night, I decided to decorate it with bright green duct tape ^^;
Above the G3 shelves I have three of the four free Walmart posters framed. I also have the Map of Equestia poster framed but that somehow ended up being hung in the kitchen.
Originally my entire MLP collection was housed on this shelf and I still kind of consider it to be the main shelf even though my collection has expanded quite a bit over the last year.

If my count last night was correct, I currently have 329 ponies not including 100+ blind bags/McD ponies.
That is one of the best collections I’ve seen! 🙂 I love the idea of mounting draw dividers for blind bags! Mine are sitting on jewellery risers in a glass cabinet but I have to admit the entire thing is full now!
If you ever want to trade a pullip for a MLP plushie let me know 😀
Thanks so much and so sorry for late reply, I’ve been insanely busy busy the past two weeks. I’ve seen people using nail polish stands for the blind bags before it’s always cool to see how different people get inventive in displaying them. I need to figure out something new as more blind bags get released as I’m rapidly running out space too.
I’d love to do a trade eventually unfortunately I’ve only got two dolls (nude/bald Ddalgi & a Maguna) on the way out right now and they are not worthy of trade for one of your awesome MLP plushies trade .
hehe I actually bought your nude Ddalgi. I’m starting to feel kinda stalkerish now! >.>
Your MLP collection is pretty amazing! I enjoyed seeing all the pictures as I sculpted many of them while working as a Senior Sculptor and Project Manager at Hasbro from 1986 to 1995. They were really fun to work on! Hasbro was and still is a terrific company – very quality conscious.
Thanks so much, I have a tiny collection compared to many on MLPArena though. I have many happy memories of my MLP as a child so it makes me really nostalgic just seeing them.
Working for Hasbro must have been amazing, you must really be a creative person. I love your work obviously.
