141/365- Monster High Ghoulia doll

With all the recent exciting news about upcoming Monster High releases that I have been reading about on plastic asylum, I decided to take some pictures of one of my favorite Monster High dolls: Ghoulia. I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for zombie movies (even Zombie Strippers) so of course I would show preference to a zombie doll haha!.

I redressed her in various stock bits from other Monster High dolls: the headphones are from Holt, the dress and belt thing are from DotD Frankie, the shoes are from the fearleading fashion pack.

140/365- Pullip Sabrina

I’m skipping ahead a day as I am almost hopelessly behind at this point and I didn’t have a whole lot to say about a picture one of my dal shelves anyway ^^; I recently acquired another Sabrina pullip (I won’t bore you the details as to the how). I already had a Sabrina pullip but she had come to me nude/bald, this came to me with her full stock.

Sabrina is one of three different pullips based on different characters from films as portrayed by Audrey Hepburn, in addition to the title character of Sabrina there has also been a Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and a Princess Ann from Roman Holiday. Something about pullip’s proportions just seem to work for portraying Audrey Hepburn.

138/365 Dead or Alive Ayane Figure

I’ve always been a huge Dead or Alive fan, I fondly remember playing the first game back when it was in the arcade and have subsequently been enjoying pretty much all of the games (I don’t have the newest one for the 3DS but I think I have all the others) . Ayane has always been my favorite character, I loved both her quick fighting style and her personality. Unfortunately there have not really been that much Ayane merchandise, this particular figure had caught my interest a few times and I think I may have even had it preordered at one point but somehow I never ended up getting it. I found it this past year at Anime Boston on sale for 50% off ($40) so I finally took the plunge.

137/365 – Pullip Squall

Pullip Squall was one of the first pullips released (I think sixth chronologically), it’s hard to believe that she was released almost seven years ago now. I myself have been collecting pullips for over four years now and it’s like so strange to me that dolls I remember preordering like Aquel are now discontinued and she was released just back in 2007. Squall is somewhat hard to find these days due to her age, the one I already have came to me in really rough condition as she spent about five years wearing microbraids in her hair, no matter how many hot water treatments she gets her hair remains set in afro mode. I always had it in the back of my mind that if I ever saw a nice minty one at a reasonable price I would get her, so when I saw this girl pop up on livejournal a few weeks ago I pounced. I have sinced given up on trying to fix Adore’s afro and accept it as is ( she now has an outfit worthy of a disco diva).

I have named the new girl Nymeria after a direwolf from A Song of Fire and Ice which I just recently read and absolutely loved. Somehow the name was the only thing I could think of to suit this exotic beauty.

136/365- Pop! Heroes revisited

I’ve featured some of my Pop! Superheroes before but since then my little army of them has grown so I decided to feature them again. After playing with them last time, I ended up going back and ordering Robin, Penguin and Batgirl.I have no plans to get anymore from the second series but I do have Two-Face preordered from the third series.

I love how absurdly adorable Funko has managed to make all these characters. I’m also super happy about their price point- I think the most I have paid for one so far was $10. The paint quality on them could be a little better but that is my only complaint.

135/365- Vocaloid Luka Figma

I received the Luka figma as a birthday present but I just recently got around to opening her up to play with her. Luka is one of the characters from the Vocaloid2 synthesizing program.

I’ve always been pretty partial to her character design, her costume design is somewhat asymmetrical so adds some visual interest.

134/365- Nosferatu Taeyang

Although Nosferatu was the very first doll purchased for my birthday (I knew he was coming) he was the last I opened. Nosferatu was a part of the Vampire set of pullip and company released early last year. Of course the obvious question is wait he’s a vampire, shouldn’t he come with fangs? while he did come with stick-on fangs but they were pretty silly looking so I just tossed them.

He reminded me a bit of Alucard from Castlevania: Sympathy of the Night (showing my age) so I decided to name him Alucard, in retrospect I could have just as easily named him after Alucard of Hellsing but no.

133/365- Hermine Byul

As much as I hate to admit it, I actually like byul. At first she was something interesting and different, and well now it seems I have been getting more excited about the new byul releases than the dal releases ^^; I decided to take some pictures of my byul Hermine, whom I have named Petunia (a lot of my byul’s have names that start with the letter P). She was part of an Innocent World fashion collaboration but I bought her nude so she came without her frilly stock.

Petunia isn’t new, I’ve actually had her for quite a while now (December-ish?) but I never took many pictures of her and none of them were that good so I resolved to feature her in my 365 toy project. Her outfit is partially blythe stock and partially handmade by Requiemart

132/365- Raspberyl Nendoroid

I’ve been busy lately and while I have managed to keep up with my 365 toy project, I’ve failed to keep this updated and well respond to anyone ^^; As much as I love the toys real world stuff comes first. It was a while ago that I did it now but I chose feature my favorite nendoroid as 132/365.

Raspberyl is a character from Disgaea 3, I’m a huge fan of the Disgaea video game series and while she is not my favorite character (Etna!) I couldn’t resist that face. I got her last year at Anime Boston from Toyslogic.

131/365- K-on Yui Dollfie Dream

It’s been a long while since I have photographed any of my dollfie dreams, as much as I love them I lack the proper space in the apartment to photograph them and it has just now started being nice enough again to venture outside with them. I decided to take my darling little Yui out today as I haven’t taken any pictures of her in a long time.

Yui’s actually one of my favorite Dollfie Dreams, I made the conscious decision when she was announced to forgo the grand majority of the flood of figures from the series and instead focus on attaining the most perfect Yui- the DD. I was not able to completely avoid the temptation to collect K-on figures as I now own all the girls in nendoroid form but besides the nendoroids and the DD I haven’t bought any figures/merchandise from K-on.

Yui’s not quite as adventurous/fearless as some of my other dollfie dreams she didn’t really seem to care for the tree climbing so much.
