Yeolume Comparison Post

As promised though not without a bit of a delay (hectic work schedule this week T_T) here is a post focusing on comparing Yeolume to other dolls in the Pullip family. As I covered in my other post on Yeolume, she is the newest member of the Pullip family and is Pullip’s future daughter. Pullipstyle was generous enough to loan me a production model they had obtained from Groove so I am trying to make the most of her short time here and take lots of pictures not to mention share as much useful information about her as I can.

Introducing Pullip’s Future Daughter Yeolume

Please meet the newest member of Pullip’s family, Yeolume! Yeolume is Pullip’s daughter from the future.  She is the seventh member of the Pullip family to be introduced (the other six members being Pullip, Namu who has since been retired, Taeyang, Dal, Byul and Isul). Unlike other members of the Pullip family, rather than have an articulated body she has a bendy body (her body is more similar to Blythe than any member of the Pullip family). Also unlike all the other Pullip family members, Yeolume is not made by Groove but by Ars Gratia Artis. Because she isn’t made by Groove she hasn’t really been widely distributed in the US yet, she is currently available via Pullip.net.

I am very fortunate and privileged to have a Yeolume visiting me right now. Pullipstyle very graciously has loaned me the production model of Yeolume that they received from Groove. Since she is just here for a limited amount of time, I am trying to make the most of her visit and take plenty of pictures of her. I will be doing a short series of blog posts focused on her including a post featuring size comparisons with her and the other Pullip family members (and other size specific stuff) as well as at least one other focusing on her outside of her stock (as she is not my doll, I will not be making any permanent changes to her ie. while I like to see what she looks on a dal body, I’m not doing it because she isn’t mine).

Latidoll LE Pharaoh’s Revenge

Latidoll announced the theme of “The Pharoah’s Revenge” for their new limited edition release. Orders will be open up until 27th of May (Korean time). Eight dolls have been revealed to be in the release including two animal dolls, rather shockingly my favorite sculpt Lea is absent from this release (the last time she wasn’t part of a LE release was the Bremen Town themed release).

July Pullip Releases- Cinderella & Steampunk

July Pullip releases were revealed today, a new Cinderella series was revealed and the next two dolls in the Steampunk Project Season 2 ~ eclipse~ series were revealed.

All in all it is looking like July may become a very expensive month, between the number of quality releases as well as the price tags.

Dog Days- Millhiore Nendoroid & Petanko

Though I am not the biggest fan of the anime Dog Days, I find myself unable to resist merchandise of the super adorable Millhiore F. Biscotti. After thinking about it for a long time, last summer I actually acquired her Dollfie Dream Sister head and because I wasn’t that attached to her as the anime character I transformed her into a MDD. Millhi has gone on the become one of my favorite DDs, I love her so much I have actually considered buying a second one to keep as the anime character.

I just very recently decided to pick up a few figures of Millhiore even if the show wasn’t my particular cup of tea, I absolutely love her character design plus all her figures always seem to have the most irresistible,  infectious smile. Everything is finally here and photographed, I figured it was time for a post focusing on Millhiore.

Arrival- Midnight Velvet Pullip

Midnight Velvet arrived on Saturday but I didn’t get around to taking pictures until yesterday. Midnight Velvet belongs to the Snow White series of Pullips, she is Snow White’s wicked step-mother. Midnight Velvet also has the distinction of being my first new Pullip in over two months :O .

Applepap- Pullip Papin x MLP Applejack

Requiemart came by yesterday for one of our little micro-doll meets and surprised me with a couple belated birthday presents including this fabulous wa-loli kimono. The kimono was made by Keelycutekimono with a few flourishes by Requiemart, it has an Applejack theme. Applejack is my favorite My Little Pony so it was a perfect surprise! I didn’t waste any time in putting on my newest recruit to the rainbow mafia (my army of Papins) and taking a couple of pictures that are now up on my flickr!

Pullip Snow White & some other thoughts on Pullip

Lately, I’ve been burnt out on dolls- Pullips in particular. The combination of a rapid fire release schedule (we used to get one and in rare cases two Pullips released in a month, December 2012 featured seven new Pullips releases in a single month) as well as more than not the releases just aren’t appealing to me as much anymore. I’ve already failed to mention the rising cost of Pullip (Pullip used to be under $100 unless it was a collaboration, now finding a new release for under that price is pretty rare) plus well the fact that quality is not really improving and the releases are becoming very repetitive (palette swaps such as the nostalgia versions of Nella and Merl for example).

I don’t know…maybe, I’m just bored? I’ve been collecting Pullip for over six years now and I have almost all of the releases up through 2012 (missing a bunch from the back half of 2012 as my indifference towards the brand grew). I don’t think I’m really done with Pullip yet but they are not really getting me excited the way that they used to.

In an effort to get myself interested in Pullip again,  very early on Sunday morning I bought myself a new one that had been on my wishlist for a while.  Midnight Velvet isn’t here yet but she comes from the Snow White series of releases so I figured now would probably be the best time to blog the actual Snow White Pullip I neglected to blog back when I got her in November.

Arrival- Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko Erio Nendoroid

As I mentioned recently, I had rewatched Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko and I may have immediately turned around and bought the petit nendoroid of Erio. I had wanted the full sized version of the Erio nendoroid as well but I had every intention of being good and waiting to hunt her down at Anime Boston this year.   It seems Anime Boston couldn’t come soon enough for me this year…Erio
Erio arrived today alongside a couple of other nendoroids and various other things.  I’m glad I got impatient as Erio is super cute!
