45/365- My pure (sugar) heart for you

Rather than do something sickeningly sick for Valentine’s Day, I decided to go for something a bit more evocative.

Agony is a gore custom pullip by Dutch pullip customizer Yukittie. I gave her a really tragically mad back story, after her lover died she was concerned that she would no longer be able to smile but that concern was laid to rest when a smile was permanently carved on her face.

The heart is made out of jello, this was actually a compromise as the original ideas were dismissed as being far too gory. I was a bit ill this year so I wasn’t able to celebrate Valentine’s Day properly.

44/365- Suzumiya DD goes shopping..

42/365- Chibi Risa Dal Arrival

After pining over her for a long time, I recently bought myself Dal Chibi Risa from Pullipstyle. There were actually two versions of Dal Risa released LE Sweet Risa as well as Chibi Risa, both versions are based off of actress/model Risa Hirako.

I decided to name her Lolita as her heart-shaped sunglasses reminded me of the iconic film poster of the Stanley Kubrick film Lolita. I love most of Kubrick’s films (as well as the original novel Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov ) so I could not resist the name reference even if most of the dolly community only knows lolita as frilly Japanese fashion.

Yoko and Nia Dollfie Dreams

I decided to take a few photos of my Yoko (alpha) and Nia together yesterday. I really enjoyed photographing them together, both of the DD just seem to encapsulate the characters so well.

I didn’t get too ambitious with the photos yesterday as I managed to wrench my ankle up big time the night before.

I’m truly hoping to get a proper Dollfie Dream shoot done tomorrow to commemorate the second anniversary of Kanu and Ryomou’s arrival but we shall see how I am doing tomorrow ^^;

41/365- Halo Reach Legendary Edition Statue

As I mentioned a few days I finally picked up a copy of Halo Reach-The Legendary Edition which came with of a bunch of neat-o cool things. My favorite of the items was the statue, it features members of the Noble Team.

40/365- Nia Dollfie Dream

Just about two years ago, I started collecting Dollfie Dreams. I was originally just going to get Kanu but I ended up buying a Ryomou while waiting for Kanu, oddly enough they ended up both arriving on the same day 2/12. The Dollfie Dream collection has since swelled to seventeen DD with Saber Lily coming in March. I never quite anticipated having this large of a collection, I was very fortunate and was able to get quite a few dolls off of my wishlist but I passed some dolls by that I ended up regretting. I had the chance to preorder Nia when I preordered my Yoko (alpha) DD but I passed her up as I was not so keen on her eyes in the promotional photos from Volks, then I started to see owner photos and the regret started to set in.

Nia arrived somewhat late last night. I had originally been on the lookout for a Mikuru Dollfie Dream as I had been wanting and wanting a Mikuru but had been distracted by other DD each and every time, I spotted Nia up for sale and pounced on her within a minute or two of finding the listing. Nia and Mikuru had been wrestling over the top spot on my wishlist for a while now but my reasoning was that while Mikuru shows up somewhat regularly, Nia on the other hand doesn’t show up too often and her price has been climbing a bit while Mikuru’s price has been fairly steady.

Halo Reach Legendary Edition Deboxing via Yoko twin DD

I went to sleep last night after going to Gamestop and finally picking up a copy of the Legendary edition of Halo Reach. I am actually a huge Halo fan but I had agreed not to play it until I could play with it someone.. since I didn’t trust myself to keep my end of the bargain I didn’t buy a copy of the game until now. I had kind of assumed I would debox the game myself this morning but after I went to bed those devious Yoko twins got into mischief, I assume their desperation to play shotties/snipers just overtook them >_<

39/365- Arrival of Dollfie Dream Nia

The devious Yoko twins got a package in the mail today, they were quite excited to finally welcome their fellow Gurren Lagann alum Nia home.

Somewhat unfortunately Nia did not arrive until very late in the day so I just took a few pictures of the Yoko twins taking a peek at her and making sure she made it home safe. Hopefully I will be able to debox her and at least get an initial photo shoot of her done tomorrow but we shall about the weather. Even though Rei has been here longer she hasn’t actually been open yet as the “Geo Front” (our somewhat large Evangelion hallway) is currently being renovated and we are kind of waiting for work to be done there so she will have a place to go before deboxing her ^^;

Of course the Yoko twins are very impatient and want Nia opened right away ^^;
