191/365 Pretty Pullip Paja

I recently purchased a KeelyVH wa-loli kimono for Pullip when it popped up for sale secondhand. I was absolutely in love with the pattern but I had no idea who would end up it, the pretty Jaja quickly stepped forward to claim it.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Toys

Somehow I just realized I managed to feature toys from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic for my 365 toy project three days last week, so I decided to condense the posts into a single larger post.
My Little Pony collection
This picture was not actually one of my 365 photos but I had finally taken a picture of almost all of my My Little Pony Friendship is Magic toys together so I thought it was a fitting picture to put above the cut.

Lots more ponies behind the cut…

Wonder Festival Exclusive Catwoman and Batgirl Pullips

I honestly don’t know how I didn’t see this from a mile away, later this week Groove Inc releases San Diego Comic-con exclusives Catwoman and Batgirl Pullips. Of course Groove Inc is going to make Japanese exclusive versions of Catwoman and Batgirl Pullips as well. These versions will be available only at Wonder Festival, which is probably going to make them a lot harder to get a hold of ::weeps:: . The SDCC versions will be limited to 400 pieces each, I’m not sure how limited the Wonder Festival versions will be.

Batgirl
Batgirl Pullip Comparison
I made a comparison photo of the new Wonder Festival version of Batgirl with the Comic-con exclusive version. When compared the Wonder Festival version has a darker palette in general, she’s tanner, her lips are darker as well as her wig (which seems to be mixed black/blue). The Comic-con version seems to based more on the iconic version of Batgirl, I’m not sure what the basis for the Wonder Festival one is. The costume almost reminds me of the wretched Alicia Silverstone Batgirl costume from the reviled Batman & Robin film. I would understand the Wonder Festival version more if they had chose to make Batgirl blond like the current Batgirl (Stephanie Brown).
Batgirl Japanese Wonder Festival Exclusive
The Batgirl costume is a little different, it uses a different bat logo and the gloves/boots/inside of the cape are now all black versus the yellow of the Comic-con exclusive.
Batgirl Japanese Wonder Festival Exclusive
I noticed in both versions of the Batgirl suit the bust area seems to be padded a bit, the Pullip type 4 body doesn’t seem to have enough bust on it’s own.
Batgirl Japanese Wonder Festival Exclusive
I don’t like this version of Batgirl as much as the SDCC version, she’s a pretty doll but she only leaves me baffled.

Catwoman
Catwoman Pullip Comparison
I made a comparison photo of the new Wonder Festival version of Catwoman with the Comic-con exclusive version. Catwoman has a lot lighter coloring this time around and she is blond. Catwoman is actually has black hair, she is only blond in Batman Returns and the comics from around the same time period (they changed it briefly in the comic for all the new Batman Returns fan). She is also supposed to have green eyes which neither version has.
Catwoman Japanese Wonder Festival Exclusive
It’s really easy to forget just how thin/frail Pullip’s new type 4 body is until you really see it in something form fitting like the catsuit. It’s rather freaky how Catwoman is here, I hope I am able to squeeze that tiny catsuit unto an obitsu body.
Catwoman Japanese Wonder Festival Exclusive
The only difference in the outfit that I noticed offhand is that her goggles are a bit different this time around, they are orange instead of green.

I actually really like the blond Catwoman’s face up, I don’t consider it to be more Catwoman-like I just like it as a doll.

189/365- Ddung dolls

I caved and bought another of the mini Ddung dolls from Truefan, after getting Alice of Alice in Wonderland I just had to have Little Red Riding Hood too. I was pleased that Little Red Riding Hood turned out to be quite similar in appearance to my larger Ddung Swiss Alps doll, LRRH almost looks like she could be a mini of Swiss Alps. The two were so alike I decided to feature them as my picture of the day (a few days ago now).

188/365- Monster High <3 Popfuzz

As I mentioned previously, I decided to order some Monster High dolls from Popfuzz‘s ebay store. While I normally prefer to buy my MH dolls in person, I’ve gotten a bit tired of the continual hunt for new dolls, I ran through two tanks of gas running back and forth to different toy stores last week so from that perspective it just seemed more cost effective to give up and just pay for shipping. Honestly, I’m starting to think the hunt is a bit overrated in general and may just make Popfuzz my primary Monster High resource (I’m not going to completely rule out my picking them up at a store if I am there anyway).

Anyway unto the dolls, I got the new Day at the Maul set of Frankie and Draculaura dolls. The Day at the Maul line is a little different, it is available both as a fashion pack or as dolls. The dolls are basically just redressed Gloom Beach versions of the characters, sure Frankie’s hair is a bit different but the face ups are the same. In addition to the Monster High dolls I also got the exceptionally awesome Popfuzz vinyl robot.

187/365- Gold Rock Saw Figma

While my interest in my anime figures in general is waning a bit, I have a keen interest in Black Rock Shooter and all the figures from it. I love the stylized look of everything BRS. My latest BRS figure is the Gold Rock Saw figma, I had seen her at Anime Boston but just recently picked her on one of my trips to Animadness.

I absolutely love her demonic little smile.

Gothic & Lolita Psycho Yuki Pullip (More accurate poster version)

Recently two Pullips were released based upon the main character Yuki from the Gothic & Lolita Psycho film. One of the two different Yuki releases was based upon Yuki’s appearance on the film’s poster, while the Pullip did have the demonic red eye like Yuki does on the poster she lacked the demonic hand and it really bothered me.

I started eying up my various toys and figures, trying to find something that might work but I wasn’t having very much luck. When I recently deboxed my Gold Rock Saw figma, I noticed how her lovely skeletal hands were quite oversized and well part of the beauty of figmas is they come with spare hands so I decided to see if it would work or not.
Psycho
The hand peg is a tiny bit small but nothing a little bit of saran wrap couldn’t fix, I’m quite happy with the results.

185/365 Pinocchio Dal

Told you, I was going to skip ahead a bit haha! I finally got the Pinocchio Dal late last month as she had been on special at Pullipstyle.  I just recently got around to deboxing her and decided to take some pictures of her.  Pinocchio was one of the seemingly ill-fated Disney/Pullip collaboration dolls, most of which proved to be rather unpopular (high cost/weird stock).
185/365- Marionette
I decided to name my Pinocchio, Marionette referencing Pinocchio’s puppet origin. I dislike Groove’s habit of making Dal crossdress, especially since it seems to becoming more and more prevalent.

Recent Toy Loots (Monster High, MLP, Lalaloopsy)

Due to a recent arm injury, I’ve fallen a bit behind in my blogging duties so in the interests of catching up I’m going to do a fairly large post focusing on all of my recent additions to my toy collection.
180/365- Toy loots
More Monster High dolls were recently released so I’ve gleefully been in toy hunt mode, going to different stores attempting to find the new dolls. I found most of the new dolls and some other things too (of course, I can’t resist looking at other stuff in the toy aisle).

179/365- Fate Testarossa Nendoroid

I honestly haven’t been buying many anime figures lately, I still like them but they don’t seem to draw me in quite the way they used to. Some of the newer figures are exceptionally lovely but I already have shelves full of nice figures that I don’t do much with, I prefer toys I can play with which is why I still find myself drawn to the occasional nendoroid and/or figma.
179/365 Fate Testarossa Nendoroid
One of my most recent purchases was the Fate Testarossa Nendoroid, she’s from the Magical Lyrical Girl Nanoha movie. I actually found her sale at  Bigbadtoystore during one of their sales events so I was able to get a pretty good deal on her (I think I paid $30).
