Pullip x Sailor Moon- Eternal Sailor Moon Pullip Details Announced!

Groove released additional information regarding the release of Pullip Eternal Sailor Moon as well as more photos of the upcoming release via their blog last night. Pullip Eternal Sailor Moon is set to be released in September in Japan, here in the US we will not get her until one month later. There will be both a standard release version of Eternal Sailor Moon which will be available for purchase worldwide as well as an exclusive version that includes a bonus outfit available for purchase only from Bandai Shop.The standard release version has a MSRP of 22,000 yen (approximately $297.55 as of this writing) and the exclusive version has a MSRP of 25,000 yen (approximately $224.48 as of this writing).The final season of the original Sailor Moon series Sailor Moon Sailor Stars was never released in the US so I’m going to take a moment to explain Eternal Sailor Moon for the people who may not be as familiar with the series. Eternal Sailor Moon is Sailor Moon’s final transformed form, it is her second most powerful form second only to Neo Queen Serenity. This form is so powerful that it often can’t be held for very long before it utterly exhausts Usagi, when exhausted she reverts to her Super Sailor Moon form.

Sailor Moon x Pullip Collaboration Series Eternal Sailor Moon Announced!

For the first time in well months, Groove just announced a Pullip release via their blog! I had almost thought that the Sailor Moon x Pullip collaboration series had ended as it had been over six months since the last doll was released but much to my surprise and delight Groove has announced the release Eternal Sailor Moon. Eternal Sailor Moon will be the 23rd doll released as a part of the Sailor Moon x Pullip collaboration series. Not many details have been revealed about her just yet but according to the SailorMoon-Official she is to be released in September and will have a MSRP of 22,000 yen (25,000 yen for the Bandai Shop exclusive version).

For those of you unfamiliar with the series, Eternal Sailor Moon is how Sailor Moon appears in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars manga/anime alongside the Sailor Stars characters. While all of the Sailor Soldiers received a makeover for Sailor Stars, the other characters received a much more subtle update to their outfit compared to drastic transformation that Sailor Moon herself goes through.

Pang-ju Darjeeling-pang Tiny Anthro BJD

It’s been awhile since I have posted a review here and even longer since I have posted a review of a doll other than a Pullip, in an effort to get things jump started here again I decided to write about the fierce guard dog I recently acquired Darjeeling-pang.  Darjeeling-pang is the ultimate guard dog, having been inspired by the Queen’s Guard who guard the royal residence of the Queen of England.

Before I continue, I should probably introduce Pang-ju to those of you unfamiliar with the doll line. What is a Pang-ju? A Pang-ju is a tiny anthro ball jointed doll that are approximately 9 cm tall, they are roughly the same size as a Latidoll Lati White bjd with whom they can share clothing with (a comparison can be seen here). They are made of ABS plastic not resin and are quite inexpensive with a MSRP of only 10000 yen approximately $90.51 as of this writing, which for a full set bjd with face up is quite the steal! Pang-ju are made by the same people who make Pullip.

Darjeeling-pang was released in January of 2014. Darjeeling-pang is named after darjeeling tea which is a very popular tea choice in England, tea in general seems to be a lot more popular in England than the US or maybe that is just my perception of it as I don’t really drink tea! At first, I thought a Queen’s Guard themed Pang-ju to be kind of a funny concept but the Queen of England is a dog lover herself owning several corgis and dorgis (dachshund/corgi crossbreeds) so in a way it makes a strange bit of sense that Pang-ju make the perfect guard dog. Darjeeling-pangI love England, it is second only to Japan on my list of international destinations I would like to someday visit. If I do ever make it to England, I will definitely have to take this little darling with me for any photo opportunities that may arise. While I have yet to travel internationally with my dolls some of my dolls have made the journey without me, my Pullip Cassie visited France this past summer and my Pullip Nahh-ato visited Bahrain, she even managed to bring back a Pullip scale camel back with her (as well as a Pullip sized functional hookah).

JPGroove Sample Sale #pullip

JPGroove is at it again with one of their sample sales! For those of you who are unfamiliar with their sample sales, JPGroove periodically has them via their website they don’t really seem to follow any sort of set schedule the sales just all of a sudden appear without warning normally just in time to hit me where it hurts most right in the paycheck.

The dolls sold as a part of it are product samples that were previously used for display at various stores/conventions because the dolls were displayed previously they do not come with their boxes, cards or stands. It’s also possible that some smaller accessories may have become misplaced though JPGroove is normally pretty good about listing any missing items. Below is a small sampling of the dolls available via the sample sale, you can check out the whole selection of what is currently available here!
It is important to note that all sales are final for items purchased as a part of the sample sale, there are no refunds or exchanges. For the most part dolls the dolls all seem to be in nice condition but I buy with the expectation that they may have a few small issues that I will have to fix and then I am pleasantly surprised when the dolls arrive in nice condition. Here is a picture of one of my recent orders when it arrived, I was really surprised to see such recent releases such as Isul Eder as a part of the sale. UntitledI hope to get reviews of my new arrivals up on this site soon, I really must apologize for my recent silence here. Unfortunately sometimes real life leaves me with little time to focus on dolls, things finally seem to be calming down again so I’m hopeful I can return to being able to focus on the site more.

Pullipstyle Opens Preorders for June restocks and MIO kits!

Groove still hasn’t made any new doll announcements in a while but Pullipstyle has opened up preorders for items they are anticipating in stock around late June. Pullipstyle is anticipating restock shipments of Pullip Classical White Rabbit as well as Premium Pullip Kiyomi Mint Ice Cream Version, the new version of Kiyomi is one I had waited on and missed out on so I’m really glad to see she has come back around again. I will definitely not miss my chance to get Premium Pullip Kiyomi this time around, I’ve already preordered her!
Perhaps the most interesting thing that is now available for preorder are 5-packs of Natural MIO or Make It Own kits, this is the first time that Pullipstyle has offered preorders for any MIO kits or multi-packs for that matter. I know a lot of people had expressed desire that the MIO kits be available for preorder and to buy multiples when they are in stock but logistically having 200-300 separate preorders for kits would be a nightmare for Pullipstyle to sort out so I feel like this is a happy medium, especially since only a limited number of the multi-packs are available for preorder. New Coupon Code @Pullipstyle & Preorders Open

Pullipstyle announced a new coupon code via their facebook page yesterday, the code 5off is good for $5 off any in stock doll order. There are some limitations to the coupon, it can not be used on preorders, dent box dolls or MIO (Make It Own) kits or items. I definitely intend to take advantage of this coupon once my paycheck hits in a few days! I know a few people have asked in the past about where the discount/coupon codes go so I have included a screen capture below that hopefully clears it up!

In addition to the coupon code announcement, Pullipstyle also recently announced the opening of preorders for restock shipments for Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World and Creator’s Label Pullip Akemi. Both dolls are due in stock in late May.

Update on Pullip MIO/Make It Own Kits

This spring Pullip MIO or Make It Own have become exceptionally hard to find, Pullipstyle had been anticipating a restock of the kits later this month but they posted an update on their facebook page earlier today saying that the kits have unfortunately been delayed (this delay does not impact the restock shipment of Pullip Cheshire Cat in Steampunk World).

We have just received an update regarding the restock of Pullip MIO or Make it Own kits, we were anticipating a restock at this end of this month but there has regrettably been a delay. We are now expecting a restock of natural kits in late June and a restock of mocha kits in late July. I wanted to post an update as soon as we received this information as I know many of you have been anticipating the restock of the MIO kits. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Source

Although the news of a delay is a bit disheartening, I’m glad that Pullipstyle posted an update on the situation. I’m going to have to stock up on MIO kits when PS finally does receive their restock!

Frog Prince Fairytale Inspired Dal Dana

Fairytales are an almost universally shared experience that we all enjoy as children, the details and the settings of the stories may change across different cultures but nearly everyone has their own favorite fairytale from their childhood. Fairytales have served as an inspiration for many Pullip and friends dolls over the years, the latest fairytale to serve as the inspiration is Grimm’s fairytale “The Frog Prince” which inspired Isul Caros and Dal Dana. Fairy tales as they are passed on from generation to generation often change a bit over retellings most add happy endings or sometimes they just skip over some of the more violent parts. In most recent popularized versions of “The Frog Prince” the princess must kiss the frog to transform him back into a prince but in the original version of the fairytale the princess threw the frog against the wall in disgust and that made him transform back into a prince which is a bit violent. Caros & DanaIsul Caros plays the titular Frog Prince while Dal Dana plays the princess. Dal Dana looks far too sweet and innocent to have thrown the frog into a wall so Caros’ transformation must have been inspired by a kiss!

Isul Caros and Dal Dana were released in late February of this year, they have a MSRP of 18000 yen each. Dana will be the first of the pair to receive a write up here and Isul Caros will follow soon after, I apologize in general for the delay on getting their reviews published here. Dana

Pullip Optical Alice

Sometimes I feel like Groove is lost in Wonderland, over the years Alice in Wonderland has served as inspiration for several different Alice in Wonderland series of dolls each with their own unique interpretation of the subject material. The latest Alice in Wonderland inspired series of dolls from Groove is the Optical Alice series which stands out because of it’s the almost ethereal pale skin color of the dolls contrasted by the bold color scheme of red, black and white for the doll’s outfits. I know some fans of Pullip may feel that Alice releases have reached the oversaturation point as there have just been so many over the years (complete list here) but the Alice Pullips have consistently been very popular and sell really well, personally I love Alice in Wonderland and as long as Groove continues to interpret the theme in new and different ways I’ll continue buying all of the Alice inspired dolls!

The Optical Alice series debuted earlier this year with the release of Pullip Optical Alice who was released in February of this year and had a MSRP of 18,000 yen. Although there have not been any official announcements of other dolls in the series Groove displayed prototypes of them at a recent doll event. I can’t wait to hear more news about the forthcoming releases from the series including what appears to be a Pullip Red Queen, Isul White Rabbit, Dal Cheshire Cat and Taeyang Mad Hatter.

Groove shares deboxing photos/instructions for Disney Doll Collection Cinderella

Groove shared photo instructions on how to properly debox the upcoming release of Disney collaboration Doll Collection Cinderella via their blog earlier today. I’m glad that they shared these photos as after looking at them if I hadn’t had the instructions I’m honestly not sure how I would have approached deboxing her when and if I am able to add her to my collection without these instructions and I have lots of experience deboxing Pullips. This definitely looks like one of the most complicated Groove doll deboxing processes that I have ever seen.
I’m basically just going to reblog what Groove said as I want their instructions to reach as many people as possible as I feel like Cinderella may be a bit intimidating or challenging to debox for some first time owners of Groove dolls. I believe Cinderella will likely bring a lot of new people into the hobby so I want to make sure that the information is out there especially for newbies.
