This year for Halloween I decided to do take some pictures based on the Kuchisake-onna urban legend from Japan. I used the gore custom I own Agony, that was customized by Yukittie as Kuchisake-onna. Agony did her own take instead of scarring the others like herself she was happy just to take their heads.

So I was supposed to be on a dolly diet that this month, it of course has ended in spectacular failure. How spectacular a failure?
I only had one Noir two weeks ago. It all started out so innocently this month by ordering a Melissa to go along with my Bonita preorder.Then of course Pullipstyle had a damaged Tiphonia so she got ordered as well… Then I met with Requiemart and well Nelliel and Streak (aka Arkham Asylum Harley Quinn) were planned purchases so they really don’t count, right? I bought three dolls including Noir #2 but they were immediately confiscated and put up as Christmas gifts. I sold my Afternoon to somewhat keep things an even keel but it didn’t stop there… I found a Jupi (Vesper Rose) and a My Melody for sale at really good prices both in a need of just a little tender loving care. Then I found some other dolls in need of some intense tender loving care including an armless, legless Naomi with a hellish haircut, a baity Lala and a baity Alte. Then the person I bought Jupi and My Melody from put her Fourrure and Panda up for sale. So yes, there were some extreme dolly diet failures this month ^^;

Back before I completely lost my mind and decided to just flat out ignore the dolly diet, I reasoned that doll clothes did not count against the dolly diet. I took the opportunity earlier in the month to treat myself to what was my most wanted dollfie outfit set, Illyas’s coat set. Illya has always been my favorite Fate/Stay Night character and I always loved her coat so I was very excited about finally attaining it.

Remember back when this blog used to be primarily be about anime figures? As my tastes have changed and evolved, I have moved away from figure collecting and focusing primarily on my dolls instead. I kind of lost my desire to photograph figures so they have become a bit neglected; I still have anime figures hanging around the apartment that I haven’t even opened yet.
I attempted to give myself a kick start to hopefully revitalize my interest in figures by buying a few new ones. I bought the Black Rock Shooter figma and nendoroid as well as the Drossel nendoroid. They’ve been here for like a week and I just decided to break the Black Rock Shooter nendoroid out today for some photos.

Normally I only really collect Japanese fashion dolls (pullips/blythes), bjds and dollfie dreams; I collect a variety of dolls really but the keyword is Japanese. I am not that terribly interested in most American dolls, I don’t collect playline dolls from here in the US. I do have piles of nude barbies, bratz and moxie dolls that I had purchased to steal the clothing from but after I steal their clothes I toss their lifeless husks aside. Then Mattel announced a new line called Monster High….
The basic premise of the line is the dolls are all supposed to be the offspring of famous monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein’s monster. I have loved horror movies ever since I was a little tyke and I think I can safely say I would have killed for this line in my younger years. I’m an adult now but I am not going to let a technicality like that stop me from collecting the line ^_- Mattel is not pulling any punches with this line there are a whole series of webisodes (which I haven’t actually watched), a book (that I haven’t read but most people I know who read it hated it) as well as skads of merchandise such as plushes and various purses/hair accessories. The dolls are flying off the shelves, even online they can be painful to find for sale and their prices on eBay borderline on extortion.
There really does not seem to be any theme for January’s pullip releases, they are a bit all over the place.
The Pullip’s name is Ludmila. Although she seems to be card themed I do not believe she is Alice in Wonderland themed. Granted she will probably end up being somehow Alice related once she actually arrives here.
I love her overall look, I love her face up especially the blue and the wig is awesome. Admittedly the outfit is a bit eclectic but I think the overall look to it really works. I have no idea what the purple furry thing is behind her wig, it just seems a little bizarre to me.
I am not the biggest Darony fan, she reminds me too much of other releases and she comes with bizarre stock. I am sure she will look amazing redressed but in stock form, I am not so impressed.
The byul’s name is Matulite. I absolutely adore everything about her. Even if she is a byul she seems to be the best put together of January’s releases and she is just awesome.
I fear I am really starting to go to the byul side.. I have four now and I definitely want this girl. It seems they purposefully try to make byul more appealing by giving her a little bit more attention when it comes to releases.
I actually brought home two custom pullips from the meet I had with Requiemart this past weekend. While the other doll’s customization is complete she is not entirely recognizable without her proper wig and costume (which I need to commission).
As I mentioned before she is a work in progress as she still needs her wig and proper clothes but eventually she will be a second Harley Quinn pullip. This time instead of the classic look she will be based on how she appeared in my very favorite of video games, Arkham Asylum

As I mentioned previously, Requiemart made a series of custom Taeyangs/Pullip from the anime/manga series Bleach. The sole pullip in the line was the former Espada Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck. Requiemart actually made two versions of Nelliel, the mini pullip based on her child-form (who I previously bought at Anime Boston) as well as the more adult pullip version. After Anime Boston, I had been fawning over big Nelliel at Animadness . After lusting after her for a while I finally managed to bring her home with me.

Pullipstyle got their restock of August’s pullip release Melissa in late last week. As soon as she restocked I pounced on her as I was powerless to resist the “daring sexy police”.
She kind of reminds me of the previously announced “lady spy” pullip release Beressa. Beressa was allegedly canceled because her lady spy outfit looked quite a bit like a SS uniform.

I had the opportunity get one more DD this year, I had originally planned on getting Mikuru but I was regretting not participating in VolksUSA‘s preorder lottery for Mari. I decided to go ahead and buy Mari off of Yahoo Japan, she arrived today. I was concerned when I saw her box as it looked like it had been through a war zone, sure enough my concern for her notoriously fragile glasses was confirmed as they were in about a dozen pieces.
I was needless to say very upset about the glasses as I was looking forward to a cute girl with glasses.
This is actually my first Mari anything, I have the Japanese Region 2 releases of the Rebuild of Evangelion but as I have been cutting back on figure buying recently I never ended up getting any Mari figures ^^;
Even without the glasses she is a very pretty girl.
I decided to order a similar pair of glasses from VolksUSA, the Naughty Devil MDD/MSD set may have also somehow slipped into my cart while I was checking out. I intend to get the glasses painted up to look like Mari’s stock glasses. The Naughty Devil set is probably going on my girl MSD once she gets a face up.
