15/365- Pinky St

You are probably wondering why there are two pictures of the day for yesterday and why neither of them got blogged yesterday.. I was very ill over the weekend so I decided to stay over at someone’s house so they would be able to help me tend to the zilla the trade-off was the person who house I decided to crash at is kind of techno-phobic so no internet access except my phone for the duration of my stay. It seems the fates were kind of on my side, my dslr was in my car although I couldn’t upload pictures from it until I got home today, so I had a camera but nothing to photograph.. after some rummaging around in my purse I was able to find a Pinky Street. I eventually figured out that I could upload photos from my phone directly to flickr so I would at least be able to upload something yesterday so I basically I ended up taking almost identical photos one with my phone and one with my dslr. I uploaded the shiny dslr pic when I got home this morning, I am actually pretty happy with what I was able to accomplish with basically no idea of what I was going to do until I went outside.

Ironically this post ends up kind of being an interesting comparison of the horrible camera in my phone and the awesome quality of my dslr.

14/365- Ala Pullip- Alexiel

Alexiel was another doll purchased from The Valley of the Dolls OOB sale. Alexiel and another doll (Raphia) were purchased a day after the others and arrived a few days later. She is a rewigged pullip Ala, redressed in pieces of the official pullip angel outfit. I decided to name after the Angel Sanctuary character of the same name. I am not a big fan of the Angel Sanctuary manga/OVA but I always loved the artwork and I own several art books from it. Of course it started eating at me immediately after I decided on her name, that I could not possibly have an Alexiel without her younger twin brother Rosiel. I decided that Richt would make a perfect Rosiel and purchased him a few days ago.

13/365- Ryofu Orchid Seed statue

The best part of waking up is Ryofu having your coffee cup at the ready. Ryofu somehow manages to remain my favorite character from Ikki Tousen, as much as I love my darling Ryomou I think Ryofu will always be my favorite. I think I can also safely say that figure is my favorite Ikki Tousen figure both out of all the ones I own and all of the currently released figures. I managed to get her for a steal off of Yahoo Japan earlier this year I believe (it honestly feels like a lifetime ago at this point though). I had always admired her but I was not willing to pay eBay pricing for her, with a little patience and perseverance I finally managed to get her for either 4500 or 5000 yen for her on Yahoo Japan (it’s been so long I can’t remember which :O ) .

Aggressive Expansion..

I find that I tend to buy things in waves, one month I might be focused on my anime figures the next my doll collection. Last month I was very dolly-centric and I had a lot of new additions to my doll collection 13 pullip/dals/taeyangs, 2 blythes and a bjd to be exact. This month it seems is devoted to anime figures as I kind of  started buying anime figures again ^^;

I took advantage of HLJ‘s Black Friday sale and bought the 1/4 Fate T. Harlaown Swimsuit Figure from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha by Good Smile Company-Link as well as 1/7 Sakura Swimsuit Figure from Fate Stay/ Night by Griffon Enterprises Link . HLJ shipped the package via Fed EX :/ which I was not exactly happy with they are scheduled to be ditched unceremoniously on my porch on or around the 10th. I ended up doing another order on HLJ last night for a bunch of cute lesser figures including the Lucky Star OVA EX Figures: Konata and Kagami Figures by Sega Prize- Link / Link, Neon Genesis Evangelion- Seat of Soul- Asuka and Rei figures by Sega Prize Link /Link and a key chain figure of Klan Klang from Macross Frontier by Bandai- Link.

I also managed to liberate some of my stuff from Toyslogic, they were my main preordering site but unfortunately I had a change in circumstances plus I kind of lost interest in anime figures in general temporarily so I ended up canceling a lot of my orders with them ^^; . I am currently expecting the following items from them Shining Wind- Kureha Nendoroid by Good Smile Company – Link, Vocaloid- 1/8 Kagamine Rin Figure – Link, Vocaloid- 1/8 Kagamine Len Figure- Link, Kannagi- Zange-chan Nendoroid by Good Smile Company – Link, Prism Ark- Priecia Nendoroid by Good Smile Company- Link, Ikki Tousen- Sonsaku Figma by Max Factory Link and a set of Gurren Lagann sheet set (Yoko and Nia).

I am also still waiting on a Nurse Witch Komugi figure by Wave and a mystery figure for Christmas (I have been given a few clues- it is extremely limited and pink but that is all I have to go on at the moment).

Even though I seem to be centering my attention squarely on anime figures this month I am actually awaiting a few more dolls as well. I am awaiting shipping notification on Comic-con exclusive pullip Lala- Link and I just bought taeyang Richt- for myself last night.

12/365 – GSC- Nanatsuiro Drops Sumomo Figure

I’m just making it under the wire again ^^; Today’s picture is of Sumomo Akihime from Nanatsuiro Drops by Good Smile Company and it’s another one of my personal favorite figures. Nanatsuiro Drops is one of the few more recent shows I have really sat down and bothered watching, although I could never bring myself to watch more than an episode or two at a time as I found the show way too sugary for my tastes in large doses. I had wanted to preorder this figure but decided to pass on it, but I ended up buying it anyway once it actually came in stock on HLJ as I could not resist the cuteness. I am glad I did actually pick it up as this ended up being my favorite figure of her even though I also own the azone, two of the Jun Planning/Taki Corp. figures and both video game exclusive figures. There is just something so perfect about this figure, it just seems to perfectly capture Sumomo’s personality and spirit.

11/365- DC Universes Classic- Joker & Harley Quinn

I swear the universe is on a mission to make sure I do not complete my 365 day project. I woke up this morning and my throat was extremely sore and swollen, I couldn’t swallow or eat anything I ended up having to go in, doc gave me something so I can at least function somewhat but I have completely lost my voice at this point. I tried to lay down and get some rest but the postman rang. The postman brought me, my DC Universe Classics Joker figure.

I have had the DC Universe Classics Harley Quinn figure since January, I happened to spot her while I was in Michigan at a Meijer’s while I was walking around and decided that I absolutely could not pass up a Harley Quinn figure. Of course my immediate thought was well if there is a Harley Quinn there must either already be a Joker or he just hasn’t been released yet, don’t get me wrong I adore Harley Quinn but I love Joker. I got an email over the weekend from BBTS mentioning his pending release and that he was a Walmart exclusive, I don’t always have good luck with BBTS preorders and they wanted a semi-ridiculous price for him so I resisted my urge to preorder him on BBTS. Of course I being sane and rational, decided to raid every Walmart within a 50 mile radius just to turn up empty-handed. I finally just gave up and bought one off of ebay. He arrived today.

10/365- Little Red Riding Hood

Today was an absolutely beautiful day for photos unfortunately I had a dentist appointment which not only took up most of the day but left me in a sour mood. I am petrified of needles after a traumatic experience I had when I was younger (I had part of a needle break off in my arm, the inexperienced technician left me there while they went to get help and I was most displeased) so I was unable to take Novocaine before getting my cavities drilled. I brush my teeth five times a day and still I manage to get cavities, my dentist said I am predisposed to have weak teeth for whatever reason. Anyway enough of this off-topic nonsense. I photographed my Little Red Riding Hood figure by Alter today as I thought it would lift my spirits a bit. She is an extremely cute figure but she is often overshadowed by the super cute POP Wonderland Alice in Wonderland figure, so lots of people seem to forget about poor Red here.

9/365- Uesugi Kenshin Figure

Today’s picture is of my Uesugi Kenshin figure from Sengoku Rance by Kotobukiya. There is no real rhyme or reason as to this choice, I just happen to really like this figure and feel it is probably one of Kotobukiya’s best pvc figures. I really love how dynamic this figure is as compared to how static some Kotobukiya figures are, I love the sense of movement and the fact that there is not really a bad angle to photograph from this figure. I love that this figure is so awesome it makes me forget about her silly tin hat.

Project integration- Kleintoys and Sodapopandritalin

When I started this blog, I said I intended to make this my final resting place and I am making it official as I’ve decided it’s time to take down both Kleintoys and Sodapopandritalin my former blogs as they have outlived their usefulness.  I had started integrating all of the posts that I felt worth saving from Kleintoys last week, about 90% of the content was saved the only things I really culled were posts about preorders and such as I canceled most of my outstanding preorders due to my recent overwhelming lack of interest.  I just finished integrating content from sodapopandritalin, I will go back and delete everything there within the next week or two as everything is now archived here.  I posted messages on both blogs pointing people here.

Best of Pullip 2010 Calender

I participated in a pullip photo contest recently, all of the the winning entries would all be included in a Best of Pullip 2010 Calender (and would receive a free calender). I entered some older pictures in the contest and one of them was selected to be included in the calender.

You can see some of my other entries that didn’t make it in on the cover ^^; The first picture in the fourth row of my Joyette and the fifth picture in the fifth row of my Papin color wheel didn’t make it. A photo of my Lola (Isolde) and Lilah (Adsiltia) was selected as March’s photo. My birthday is in March so I thought it was kind of cool that my picture was used for that month.
