Normally I only really collect Japanese fashion dolls (pullips/blythes), bjds and dollfie dreams; I collect a variety of dolls really but the keyword is Japanese. I am not that terribly interested in most American dolls, I don’t collect playline dolls from here in the US. I do have piles of nude barbies, bratz and moxie dolls that I had purchased to steal the clothing from but after I steal their clothes I toss their lifeless husks aside. Then Mattel announced a new line called Monster High….

The basic premise of the line is the dolls are all supposed to be the offspring of famous monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein’s monster. I have loved horror movies ever since I was a little tyke and I think I can safely say I would have killed for this line in my younger years. I’m an adult now but I am not going to let a technicality like that stop me from collecting the line ^_- Mattel is not pulling any punches with this line there are a whole series of webisodes (which I haven’t actually watched), a book (that I haven’t read but most people I know who read it hated it) as well as skads of merchandise such as plushes and various purses/hair accessories. The dolls are flying off the shelves, even online they can be painful to find for sale and their prices on eBay borderline on extortion.
So far a total of twelve dolls have been released including a Comic-con grey-scale exclusive version of Frankie Stein. The initial launch had six dolls: Frankie Stein, Lagoona Blue, Clawdeen, Draculaura and a two pack of Cleo and Deuce. There has recently been a subsequent addition of two more dolls to basic line Ghoulia and Holt. Ghoulia and Holt are extremely hard to find in stores at the moment so the scalpers are taking advantage of it on ebay. Luckily, I received a Ghoulia as a partial trade for another doll and Requiemart happened to find me a Holt at her local store today.
Frankie Frankie was my first Monster High doll and I have had her for quite a while now ^^;

and Ghoulia who just arrived today..

Zombie movies were always my favorite, she reminds me of the original Dawn of the Dead film where all the zombies were blue.

There has also been a Dawn of the Dance line featuring Cleo, Frankie and Clawdeen.

The Dawn of the Dance line is truly outrageous and looks to be straight out of the 1980s . Each of the girls got a makeover in the new line with redone face ups and new hairstyles.

I LOVE THEM! How awesome! I like Lagoona the best. If I were in elementary school I would definitely be trying to get these for Xmas. I disliked Barbies because they were usually dressed in boring outfits or super fancy ones. I would have really played a lot of fun games with these characters.
They’re growing on me. Too bad they’re not available here in Singapore. 😦
They have been showing up in England and Canada but I know there are supposedly no plans to release them in Australia those are the only three non-US countries I know anything about for sure. There is a fangroup on lj http://community.livejournal.com/monster_high/ full of helpful people that would probably be more than willing to help you get them. I would offer myself but I am not up to running from store to store for even myself right now unfortunately ^^;
you missed out abby spectra venus holt jakson rochelle and nefra so ya :p
Actually the only one I don’t actually have that has been released so far is Rochelle, I just haven’t had much time to update this recently ^^;
