After visiting Anime Castle recently, I decided to splurge and buy some new anime figures as it’s been a while since my last major figure haul ie. Anime Boston last year. I primarily focused on buying new nendoroids and figmas as well as anything from Puella Magi Madoka Magica I could get my hands on but I also decided to track down a figure I had been wanting for quite some time that had somehow slipped through my grasp until now. The figure in question is the lovely Alter 1/8 scale Yagyu Jubei  from Hyakka Ryouran, I had been lusting after her since her announcement but somehow never managed to get my hands on her until now.

Although the 1/8 Alter figure eluded me, I did manage to get my hands on the nendoroid of Yagyu Jubei during the fall of 2011 via Animadness. Since I don’t think I ever shared pictures of the nendoroid here before, I decided to focus this post on both my newly acquired Alter figure as well as the nendoroid.

Yagyu Jubei was well worth the wait as she is absolutely breathtaking in person.  Alter really outdid themselves with her and I couldn’t be happier that I finally own her.

Lately I have been more drawn to articulated figures such as figmas and nendoroids and not so much static figures but since she has a nice dynamic post I’ll let her slide!

The level of detail on her is outstanding, especially on the various textures of the different ropes.

Even from behind she is quite impressive.

Now on to the less overtly sexy Yagyu Jubei figure, the nendoroid who to her credit does have a much more ample chest than most nendoroids. I love how adorable Jubei is a nendoroid, normally I end up not really caring for the sexier conversions to nendoroids like the girls from Queen’s Blade etc but she maintains to retain her personality and still become super cute.
