151/365- Gothic & Lolita Psycho Yuki Pullip

A new and very different collaboration with Pullip was recently released, two dolls were released based on Rina Akiyama’s appearance as the character Yuki from the film Gothic & Lolita Psycho.  Both dolls were limited to 300, one was based on how the character Yuki appeared on the poster (with one red eye) and one based on how she actually appeared in the film. The one with mismatched eyes seems to be the more hard to find and desirable of the two.  Due in part to her collaboration Yuki’s MSRP was quite high and most stores were not able to offer her for sale, I got my Yuki through Amiami after shipping costs, etc she was around $240.

I’m hoping to get my hands on the other version of Yuki soon as well, the ebay prices are already a tad extreme though ^^;

I may have gone a bit overboard with pictures I fear ^^;

Yuki made a phenomenal first impression, she arrived in a cardboard shipper like blythes/old-school pullip limited editions used to as soon as I took a peek at her I was absolutely smitten. Due to the lack of promotional photos I was admittedly a bit worried that she would be disappointing in person, or at least not as special as I had hoped  but my fears were unfounded. She is well worth the price in my opinion.
Gothic & Lolita Psycho Yuki Face Up
I absolutely love her face up; while her lips are a bit reminiscent of Clara’s, her eye make up/shape are really distinct and unique . I love her eyebrows, they seem to be full of mischief.
Gothic & Lolita Psycho Yuki Stock
I took a disassembled picture of Yuki’s stock as it is fairly intricate and definitely unique. The quality is a lot better than I have come to expect from pullip, it is also a very faithful representation of Yuki’s costume from the film (except the parasol which I remember as being a different color).Gothic & Lolita Psycho Yuki
She is such a splendidly and pretty evil thing, as beautiful as she is there is also something very menacing about her.

As a rule, I tend to dislike Pullip parasols as they never ever want to stay open for me. I seem to have gotten lucky with Yuki’s parasol, as it will actually stay open unlike the others (Aquel!).
