When I was a kid I loved Batman the Animated Series, ever since my love of Batman (well of Joker really) got rekindled I’ve been slowly collecting various toys/figures/statues with a particular focus on stuff from the animated series. Some of the stuff is easier to find than others, I’d actually seen this Poison Ivy statue in a few stores before getting this one from Wonderland Comics so she was easy but others are proving quite vexing. I have Poison Ivy number 16 of 2100.

This statue of Poison Ivy is lovely and it’s a great representation of her animated series character design but the pose is kind of odd and can be very limiting when it comes to photography.

As much as I love this statue, I hate that her hand just kind of disappears into her hair it just seems so lazy to me.

I love Poison Ivy. Could never really decide between her and Catwoman.
At first, I thought maybe you could see her hand on the back of her head but it just disappears. That is lazy but it’s a nice figurine.
I think Harley Quinn will always be my favorite but Poison Ivy is a very close second.
I was surprised as I had only ever seen a front view of this figure, every single photo of it I could find was taken from the same angle to mask the disappearing hand. I still like the statue quite a bit but it would have been that much more awesome if it wasn’t effectively missing a hand.
LOL ok I admit the hand being “buried” in her hair like that looks a bit unnatural. I loved the Poison Ivy episode where they show how she became a villain, although my all time favorite episode is seeing Harley Quinn turn. I loved that she was originally such a serious psychologist (?) in the asylum Joker was kept in.
The origin episodes were always pretty well handled in the Batman animated series. The Harley Quinn episode is Mad Love. The self-titled Harley Quinn series kind of implies she was already pretty warped before she went to Arkham as a psychiatrist, I think it was partially why the series ended up being canceled as no one seemed to like that theory.
