Arrival- Happy Birthday Couple- Pullip & Namu

I am home, still haven’t uploaded all of the missed 365 pics yet (lazy!) but as I am getting ready for a pullip meet at Animadness tomorrow I decided it might be nice to share some pictures of my latest acquisitions. Although I did not know it these two were actually here for a quite a while but they were hidden on me, I recently had occasion to unearth them from the depths of the closet they were hidden in.

The Happy Birthday Pullip and Namu couple were released on the one year anniversary of pullip’s release, they were limited to 300 and only sold as a set. Jun Planning released a second Happy Birthday set the following year, but it was bittersweet as it ended up being Namu’s last release (before Pullip dumped him for Taeyang). The pullip came packaged with some foam protecting her nose from getting scuffs, ironically my namu ended up with a nose scuff guess they should have used foam on both of them!

I always kind of felt bad for these two as they don’t even have stock names they are simply Happy Birthday Pullip 1 and Happy Birthday Namu 1.

I had a Happy Birthday Pullip 1 already, the lovely Portia pictured above  it had taken me months to find one for sale. When I did actually find her for sale she was nude and her wig was beyond salvage, I always regretted not waiting and getting her with her stock and vowed to buy her stock if I ever seen it for sale (which I never did T_T) . A stock Happy Birthday Pullip 1 topped my list of  pullips I would love to have eventually but because she was so limited I didn’t think it would ever really come to fruition.
Leonore & Fidelio
Of course it would just be easier to buy the pair together, I guess? I mean they were made for each other after all.
Leonore & Fidelio
They both come with Venetian masks, of course I have a filthy mind and the first thing I think of when I see Venetian masks is Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. I ended up naming the boy Fidelio (the password ^_-), which I found out was an opera  where a female character masquerades as the title male character. I named her after the female character Leonore from the opera.

WOW I really like the touch of the Venetian Mask. It’s good they gave them nose protection, but I wonder if the collectors that display their dollies in the boxes were disappointed.
