I decided to go visit Requiemart on Saturday (more on the dolly meet later), since I was already in the area I decided to take a run up to Animadness. Animadness is a store that sells anime figures and various paraphernalia as well as Pullips in Waltham, MA; while they aren’t exactly local to me (it’s about a two and a half hour drive each way but it’s only about half an hour from Requiemart’s house) I still manage to drop in for a little shopping spree every couple of months. In a way, I am kind of glad that Animadness isn’t closer to me as if they were as if they were much closer I feel I would be perpetually broke.
Whenever I visit, I take lots of store pictures as I have personally ventured all over New England trying to find various hole-in-the-wall comic book stores/stores that supposedly sold anime most of the time I ended up well rather disappointed I figure that if I post pictures anyone curious about the store can gauge for themselves whether or not it is worth the trip or not (it totally is!). It also helps that the owners are really nice, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about anime.
They have a gigantic display of gashapon, various key chains, blind box figures (like petite nendoroids) and various other small anime figures.
Lots and lots of anime plushes from everything ranging from Pokemon to Naruto to Sgt. Frog they even had some Hangry and Angry plushes from the H.Naoto fashion brand.
Lots and lots of Gloomy Bear, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much Gloomy Bear stuff anywhere before.
They also have lots of Hello Kitty plushes as well as some other Sanrio characters.
They carry some manga and dvds (which I neglected to take a pictures of) but their primary focus is on the figures, etc. If you look closely in the upper right corner of this picture you may see a rather exhausted Zilla riding on top of someone’s shoulders.
They also carry various posters, wall scrolls, tshirts, hats from various anime series.
Various bags, the Gurren Lagann bags were particularly tempting to me.
The entire back wall is Gundam and various other kits.
The figure wall this section has lots of prize figures from Banpresto and Sega Prize, as well as various Nightmare Before Christmas figures, Bome figures and Kotobukiya figures. I was really tempted by the Neon Genesis Evangelion Asuka maid figure by Kotobukiya especially since I have had the Rei from that set for a while but somehow never managed to get Asuka (which is really funny because Asuka is one of my favorites).
More Figures!
They also have some older anime dolls still in stock, I hadn’t seen those Cutie Honey dolls anywhere in years.
Display case with various tasty figures in it, I especially liked the Chou’un of Ikki Tousen statue.
Lots of the Bishoujo x DC/Marvel line, plus various Black Rock Shooter, Vocaloid, Ikki Tousen figures.
A small rolling rack of various small anime figures next to a very nice selection of nendoroids, figmas and revoltechs.
They had so many awesome nendoroids it was hard to make a choice as to which one I needed most ^^;
Some older figures, various Nintendo figures and even some Pinky Street
Lots of Play Arts from various Final Fantasy games and the Kingdom Heart series.
While I did get a picture of the two custom Requiemart taeyangs, I neglected to get a picture of the entire Pullip display this go around :O The custom taeyangs are of Bill and Tom Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel for anyone curious, they are really awesome sadly boy dolls aren’t really my cup of tea for the most part. Animadness just recently got in the Batgirl and Catwoman Pullips, I was sorely tempted to pick up a second Catwoman but relented.
By now you are probably curious as to what I actually picked up at the store this trip..
I picked up the Danny Choo mascot Mirai figma, the Madoka nendoroid from Puella Magi Madoka Magical, a Lina Inverse plush from Slayers and the Steampunk Taeyang Gyro. I had reluctantly passed on the Mirai figure on my last visit, I couldn’t pass up on it this time. In preparation for the Puella Magi Madoka Magical Pullips release next month I started rewatching the anime which meant I could not pass up the Madoka nendoroid. Slayers is an old favorite of mine so I was very excited to find the Lina plush, we I don’t think I had ever really seen before funnily enough I do believe it may be my first piece of Slayers merchandise. Gyro, I floundered on for a while he was the last doll in the Steampunk set I needed but I tend not to favor the boy dolls too much but after really taking a look at him in person I couldn’t pass him up (I deboxed him yesterday and absolutely love him so I am glad I took a chance on him).
