Despite the fact that I have all of the first series of Arkham Asylum figures preordered at BBTS, I couldn’t resist picking up a spare set of Joker and Harley Quinn figures during my travels yesterday. I found Joker at my local Toy Vault (and a vintage Two-Face figure I had as a kid) alas there was no sign of Harley Quinn there. I stopped at my extremely local comic book shop (ie. I can walk their in less than ten minutes) to pick up my pull box and they had Harley Quinn in stock. I had intended to keep my set NRFB so I essentially bought spares so I could debox and I am glad I did.

I think the figures capture their likenesses from the Arkham Asylum game very well, in fact I think these two may just be two of the best playline figures from DC Direct.

I was particularly impressed by the Harley Quinn figure, they her Arkham Asylum uniform is perfect. I still lament the fact that you never get to truly fight her in the game.

Harley Quinn comes with an injection gun and her cane.

An interesting note on Harley Quinn is that her fishnets are real, they are not just painted on they are actual fabric. The fishnets trend came into vogue a few years ago with anime figures, but this is the first time I have ever personally seen them on a western figure.

The Joker figure is pretty nice too, his head sculpt is especially amazing and very detailed. Joker came with the Scarface puppet that he lugs around with him during part of the game but that was his only accessory.

Harley is amazing! 🙂 I love her facial expression. 🙂
I was really impressed with the quality for DC Direct figures, unfortunately the Harley figure seems to be flying off shelves at record speed :O
