10/365- Little Red Riding Hood

Today was an absolutely beautiful day for photos unfortunately I had a dentist appointment which not only took up most of the day but left me in a sour mood. I am petrified of needles after a traumatic experience I had when I was younger (I had part of a needle break off in my arm, the inexperienced technician left me there while they went to get help and I was most displeased) so I was unable to take Novocaine before getting my cavities drilled. I brush my teeth five times a day and still I manage to get cavities, my dentist said I am predisposed to have weak teeth for whatever reason. Anyway enough of this off-topic nonsense. I photographed my Little Red Riding Hood figure by Alter today as I thought it would lift my spirits a bit. She is an extremely cute figure but she is often overshadowed by the super cute POP Wonderland Alice in Wonderland figure, so lots of people seem to forget about poor Red here.

I don’t see how anyone could forget her, though they do, she’s super cute too ❤ ❤ One of my most adorable figures. And the scenery is just so lovely in this shot ❤

Did you know Dark Horse is putting out the Pop Wonderland picture-books? Just got mine for Little Red Riding Hood in the mail yesterday ❤ They've put out that one and also the one for Thumbelina.

It’s really amazing if you compare their going rates on yahoo Japan, you can still get Little Red Riding Hood at or under MSRP but for Alice you will more than likely be paying twice that. They are both adorable, I am not sure why so many prefer Alice over Red here. Thanks, it’s just my backyard I decided to venture outside yesterday because for once it wasn’t actually raining.

No I didn’t know that, thanks for telling me. I will have to look into it. I hope they come out with a Thumbelina figure that would probably be adorable as well.

I am too, I always wonder how so many people can ask $300+ for her on the auctions/amazon and yet I got my Little Red for around $40. It’s mind blowing really, I mean I think she’s cute but far too sought after XDXD Though I’m personally content with the two Sega figures I’ve got of her, they might not be as high of quality, but they’re still cute ❤

And they came out with trading figure sets for Thumbelina [as well as Red Riding Hood and Alice in Wonderland] but the quality looks rather low and the colors are too bright in the Thumbelina set. I wish Alter would do a whole set ❤ I'd love to have my hands on his version of The Little Mermaid 😀

I was lucky enough to preorder Alice so I didn’t have to pay a ridiculous price for her. I know Alice in Wonderland is extremely popular in Japan but I didn’t think she was quite that popular. Don’t get me wrong I love my Alice but I don’t think I would pay more than what I did (I want to say about $65) for her. I have the sega prizes as well they are pretty cute, I actually ended up putting them in my daughter’s room.

I’m going to have to pick them all up, I haven’t bought any artbooks or anything in a long while I have been too doll-centric lately. Alter needs to release more of them although Red’s poor sales probably make them a bit weary about releasing more.

    Runs to Amazon to buy….

I actually pre-ordered Little Red just to compliment my Alice, but when I received her I ended up liking her a lot more then I realized I would. The Alice/Little Red pair are some of my favorite figures and were some of the first to be unpacked when I moved.
