11/365- DC Universes Classic- Joker & Harley Quinn

I swear the universe is on a mission to make sure I do not complete my 365 day project. I woke up this morning and my throat was extremely sore and swollen, I couldn’t swallow or eat anything I ended up having to go in, doc gave me something so I can at least function somewhat but I have completely lost my voice at this point. I tried to lay down and get some rest but the postman rang. The postman brought me, my DC Universe Classics Joker figure.

I have had the DC Universe Classics Harley Quinn figure since January, I happened to spot her while I was in Michigan at a Meijer’s while I was walking around and decided that I absolutely could not pass up a Harley Quinn figure. Of course my immediate thought was well if there is a Harley Quinn there must either already be a Joker or he just hasn’t been released yet, don’t get me wrong I adore Harley Quinn but I love Joker. I got an email over the weekend from BBTS mentioning his pending release and that he was a Walmart exclusive, I don’t always have good luck with BBTS preorders and they wanted a semi-ridiculous price for him so I resisted my urge to preorder him on BBTS. Of course I being sane and rational, decided to raid every Walmart within a 50 mile radius just to turn up empty-handed. I finally just gave up and bought one off of ebay. He arrived today.

My main experience with Batman is the cartoon I watched growing up. My favorite episode is the one where they give the background on how Harley Quinn became Joker’s sidekick, I was fascinated seeing her as such a calm and collected psychologist.

I watched the cartoon as a kid as well, I actually quit ballet at one point because they moved the time of the cartoon to the exact time when I had my lessons. Harley Quinn was actually introduced in the cartoon then migrated over into the comics, Mad Love (the episode/ comic it was based on) has always been a favorite of mine and I am very happy I finally have a 1st edition of it. I like seeing Harley’s descent into madness although now whenever I read the comic, watch the motion-comic/cartoon all I can think of is the scene with the whoopie cushion and wondering how exactly they were using that during sex or if I really want to know the answer to that question :O
