I received a surprise in the mail today.. my grail doll that I have been wanting for over two years, my namesake in most doll communities (here too actually) the doll I had given up hope on ever getting Hina Ichigo. Rozen Maiden will always have a special place in heart, I had actually left the hobby about three years ago. Someone showed me Rozen Maiden and it started a renaissance, it reignited my love of anime. I absolutely fell in love with Hina Ichigo, something about her character always made me smile. It also led to the discovery of pullips and it all went downhill from there..

She arrived this morning which completely caught me off-guard as I had failed to raise the necessary funds before the one I was watching on Yahoo Japan auction’s ended. Even after I sold a couple of my pullips and one of my other bjds I fell short of my goal. This isn’t the one I had been watching on Yahoo Japan, apparently my partner in crime noting my angst over not getting Hina and wishing to no longer hear anymore on the subject started emailing some doll shops I had previously used in my great quest to collect all pullips until he found one that had a Volks Hina and immediately purchased her.

I was allowed a quick peek before she was whisked away, I wasn’t allowed to actually open her until all of my other dolls were put away. My dolls haven’t all been put away since around January, I had spent a good chunk of the weekend working on actually getting everything straightened out but I still had a whole bunch of work to do which needless to say I got done in record time.

After all my hard work and two years of waiting I finally had Hina in my hands and it was glorious. She is everything I had hoped for and desired. I had thought her size was detract from my love of her but quite the opposite I love her even more because she is a Yo-SD. I am so deliriously happy right now.

I just realized I haven’t checked my email since like Friday, perhaps I should take this opportunity to catch up on it ^^;
