I am just going to ignore the pile of new anime stuff/ dolls that came into the mail yesterday and concentrate on my newest acquisition that I bought out in town last night: Black and White Joker figure by DC Direct.

So anyway, the Joker figure is part of the Batman: Black and White figures line from DC Direct. He is somewhat unique because he is the only one in the line released so far that is not Batman. Of course I don’t think they could have picked a better villian as a subject for the first non-Batman figure but I digress. He is based on Jim Lee’s Joker during the Hush storyline… I actually like the Hust storyline well not so much the first arc but Heart of Hush now that showed some promise (and of course Payback because Joker using homing pidgeons for evil plots is utter win). There is a bit of additional information about the figure here- www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/

Jim Lee’s Joker is a bit of an extreme Joker, a bit cartoony and perhaps a bit over the top. I prefer a slightly less cartoon-ish Joker would rather like one based on Bermejo’s artwork or more figures based on Tim Sale’s artwork. The black and whte kind of limits it ironically but I still feel it is a pretty solid interpretation of Joker even if this particular iteration isn’t a fan favorite 😛

oh boy he is scary but cool 🙂
