166/365- New camera and Suzumiya DD pictures

I finally got a new camera, I had originally planned to just get a straight up replacement and get another Canon Eos Rebel XS  but I ended up getting a T3 instead. It’s a little different than my old camera but it’s still pretty easy to use. My old camera had issues, about two weeks ago the ability to auto-focus as well as the viewfinder simultaneously just gave out, both the camera and the lens were messed up (I have some theories on how this happened) but it would have been so costly to fix it just made more sense to buy a replacement.

I decided to take my Suzumiya DD out for some test photos with my new camera, plus to feature her holding my new electronic “toy” as my picture of the day for my 365 project.

Back and camera frustrations

I’m mostly back now, I say mostly because I managed to fry the damn SD card reader in my computer so although I have tons of new photos that I want to share, I have no way to do so at the moment. Of course my four card readers are no where to be found. The entire situation really got me thinking about my camera (Sony DSC-W120) in general which has seen better days, I am not going to lie it’s been through hell I basically have to manually open the lens now. The ISO settings on my camera are horrible and I have noticed reds and purples sometimes get distorted (especially noticeable in some of my pullip photos). I started seriously looking at DSLR’s again last night (it’s a exercise in futility at the moment, but I am hopeful Santa might bring me one for Christmas this year) I basically went through my entire contact list on flickr and seen what cameras everyone was using. I noticed that several of the photos that I was really drawn to were all taken with the Canon EOS Rebels. After reading reviews in various photography magazines I have been steadily acquiring I think the one I want is the Canon EOS Rebel XS it has all the features I want for a reasonable price.

I’m still just really toying with the idea but I think this camera has the potential for awesomeness and that it would give me a potential for more growth as a photographer.
