First some Maria spam, which admittedly doesn’t have a heck of a lot to do with the rest of this post but I have really been enjoying photographing her recently so I felt like sharing some pics was in order.

and then a solo shot. As soon as I saw this kimono I knew it would be perfect for Maria as it matches her eyes so beautifully, luckily I was able to arrange a trade with KeelyVH for it.

Enough picspam time to move on to to how various companies are in on an evil conspiracy to completely empty my wallet!

Fairyland

Pukifees Pio, Mio and Zio
Fairyland announced the second round of their 10th anniversary event last month, unlike the first round where I was completely safe the second round proved to be quite detrimental to my wallet. Fairyland announced three new Pukifees: Mio, Pio and Zio as well as two new Littlefees Pongpong and Chloe both of which were already very popular sculpts in other sizes (Pongpong as pukipuki/pukifee and Chloe as Minifee).  The full sets of all the dolls are limited to 100, the basic versions do not seem to be limited though thankfully.

I actually really like all five releases, Fairyland really managed to outdo themselves with this event. Thankfully the basics are not limited so while I know I will be getting Littlefees Pongpong and Chloe eventually I am not in love with them as full sets so I felt like I could safely pass on them for the moment (now if Pongpong had been a girl I feel things may have played out a bit differently). I also decided I could pass on Pukifee Pio, I had thought after a lot debate between Pukifees Mio and Zio that I finally reached a decision and that I would get Mio as a full set and that I would sleep on Zio. The first thing I did the next order was to go ahead and order Zio’s full set as well.

I ordered both through Denverdoll as they offer layaway, I expect them to arrive home to me some time in the June/July time frame.

Latidoll

Latidoll also happened to introduce some new limited release dolls recently, the theme is the Circus of Bremen. The dolls include Benny, Ruki, Sunny and newcomer Pero. The order period is only open until the 29th of May. I was thanking my lucky stars that I didn’t need any of the dolls this order period while looking at the sneak preview pictures and then I saw Sunny and my heart melted.

This is a major problem to me as I was only ever supposed to have a maximum of seven Lati Yellows (one for each color of the rainbow) and well I already own six and I have two dolls still incoming from the last order period (Petite Prince Lea and Kuku) and we are just not going to mention the other one I just put on layaway last night… I decided my justification for ordering for Sunny is she can take the place of my current red themed doll Queen of Hearts Lea who will now reside with my other Alice in Wonderland themed tinies Pukifee Pongpong and Luna.

Volks

This one could potentially be a lot worse but it still has that potential. VolksUSA recently held the lottery for two of the Dolls Party 27 limited dollfie dreams (due to licensing issues with Touhou Project they were unable to offer Cirno) Rise of Persona 4 and Sakuya/Maxima from Shining Blade. I really loved both dolls but found myself unable to decide who to enter for as they were just both so lovely, I eventually settled on entering for both. I actually lost both

While waiting on the results of the lottery my grail DD actually popped up for sale, the lovely Noumi Kudryavka or Kudo happened to pop up at a reasonable price for once. After lengthy debate I decided that I would regret it if I hesitated and didn’t buy her, especially if I ended up not getting winning the lottery for either doll and Kudo managed to sell in the meantime. Fortune may not have smiled on me at the lottery but I will finally have my lovely Kudo!

According to tracking she should actually be here later on today! I still plan on entering the Volks international lottery at least for Rise… so like I said this could potentially get worse mwahahahaha!

Lir is July’s Isul release, he is dressed up to match his big sister Merl!

I was pretty adamant about not wanting anymore Isuls but this boy may break my resolve.

Chenille du Jardin is the dal release for July.

I absolutely love all things Alice in Wonderland, even though I literally own dozens of different Alice-themed dolls I have never really seen a caterpillar doll before and I have to say this is just about the most hysterical yet adorable thing ever and I am more excited about this release than I have been about any other this year.

It’s kind of funny, I was gifted a doll sized hookah a couple of years ago just in case I ever actually got a caterpillar doll of some sort and well she is just perfect!

She has a little bit of a different face up style than most dals, I believe this is the first dal release with freckles. She also has super blushy cheeks.

The last release in July is Regeneration Noir. I don’t think I have mentioned the new line of Regeneration dolls here, they are rereleases of beloved older releases. Groove originally described them as being renewed versions of the dolls, which I think had the potential of being really cool instead we basically got reissues of the same dolls they are now just on the type 4 body! I have kind of mixed feelings about the Regeneration dolls…

The Regeneration dolls are all limited to 500 each, I suspect that Noir will sell out lightning fast as she has always been a really popular doll.

Looking at the promo pictures she just doesn’t seem to have the same charm as the original to me. The original dolls all seemed to have a lot of character especially the earlier type 1s with their handpainted face ups these new ones just devoid of character.

I’ll start with the comics based cosplayers.. I saw no less than three Poison Ivy cosplayers this year..

I think this one was my favorite even though it is also the most modest.

She was almost too sweet to be Poison Ivy.

She even has green lipstick!

I didn’t see as many Harley Quinns this year as I did last year.

Another Harley Quinn, this one in vinyl.

.. and the Joker because I love the Joker. I saw a few this year but this one was the best in my opinion.

Anime cosplay pics

I adore Rozen Maiden, so I was super excited to see Shinku this year. She was by far the best Shinku cosplayer I have ever seen in person.

Group of Black Rock Shooter girls, these three were awesome!

Madoka and Kyoko from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, I actually saw quite a few Madoka cosplayers this year. I was kind of sad I did not see any Mami cosplayers though .

Devil Flonne from Disgaea, I this is the first time I have ever saw someone cosplaying Flonne so I was pretty excited.

A very brave Felicia cosplayer ( I say brave because Felicia’s outfit is so revealing and I can’t even imagine how she managed to get it to stay on).

My favorite Vash from Trigun this year, I saw a couple but this guy even had the donut box so he gets bonus points!

I saw quite a few non-anime cosplayers too including My Little Pony… I’ll admit I was surprised how prevalent ponies had become this year, I saw a lot of booths selling MLP t-shirts and quite a bit of stuff in the artist alley not to mention the cosplayers.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack- Two of my favorite ponies so needless to say I was quite pleased to find these two together.

AND… while I did not find the one thing (namely the GSC figure of Triela from Gunslinger Girl) I was really hoping to find in the dealer’s room, I did find some other things..

I bought quite a bit from Animadness (all five nendoroids, Miku append figma and the Hello Kitty plush I got for the zilla) this year. While I may favor them a bit (I did volunteer at their booth this year, I wouldn’t have done that if I didn’t like them), I can honestly say that Animadness’ booth had one of the best selection of figures and also had some of the best prices. I bought a Magic Knight Rayearth doll outfit set for an eventual pullip custom I am working on from Asylum-Anime . I bought the Rei figma from Toyslogic. I honestly can’t remember which booths I got the rest of the stuff at ^^;  The Joker print came from the Artist Alley. The big white trunk was not purchased at Anime Boston it contains something I bought from Requiemart. I also got a wall scroll from Madoka but I somehow managed to leave it behind in Requiemart’s car >_< .

Since this figure is based off of her appearance in Arkham City, I thought it fitting to use stills from the game itself as my background.

I’ll be the first to admit that I do not like Arkham City’s version of Harley Quinn as I do the iconic jester suit or even the Arkham Asylum costume but I still like it better than what she is currently wearing in Suicide Squad.
