Pullip Meet @Animadness June 18th

Animadness is hosting another Pullip meet on Saturday June 18th, the meet starts at 1pm and goes until whenever. Animadness will be running a special during the meet, all dolls will be 10% off and they will even come with a free re-ment. There will be photo areas (this meet’s theme is camping), group pictures of dolls as well as a time for buy/sell/trading/swap with other collectors.

While it is a Pullip meet, all other doll types (bjd, blythe, dollfie dream, etc) are eagerly  welcomed. You are even welcome if you do not own a doll and just wish to see some in person out of idle curiosity.

I’ll be attending, I will have a small army of Pullips and company in tow as well as a dollfie dream, a bjd and a blythe. I should even have my custom Duela Dent Pullip by then. Hopefully I’ll have a new lens for my bloody camera by then.

95/365- LPS Blythe Autumn Glam & Takara Petite Blythe Squiggly Squirrel

For my birthday, I had asked for a “real” Takara Petite Blythe as I had a number of the LPS Blythes and I was curious how they compared to the real thing. I had asked for and received a Squiggly Squirrel in particular as I had seen her at Rising Sun Creations in California years ago, I kind of fancied her and regretting not buying her.

Squiggly Squirrel is on the left and the LPS Blythe Autumn Glam is on the right. I chose Autumn Glam because she matched my Squiggly Squirrel the best out of all my LPS blythe. I took a number of comparison photos under the cut for anyone interested ::warning doll nudity::

Both dolls are sold thank you

I’ve got a few dolls up for sale. As of right now I’m only shipping within the US (the post office at my workplace only ships within the US and I have been working longer hours so getting to a regular post office is not possible at the moment ^^;). I have a non-smoking home but I used to have a cat, it passed away late last year so if you are highly allergic be advised there could be a bonus haunted cat hair. 87/365- Birthday Loot

I’m skipping ahead a fair bit as I haven’t had much free time to keep this updated as of late. Days 84, 85 and 86 are up on Flickr if anyone is particularly interested. Day 87 ie. yesterday was my 27th birthday so I opted to take a picture of all of my birthday loot for the picture of the day.
87/365 Birthday Loots
I received a good variety of loot including dolls, anime stuff and comics stuff. Had I won the Volks lottery, Kudo would have been a birthday (albeit belated) present as well but since I was not successful an order was made through Pullipstyle instead. That order did not make it in time for my birthday as the loss of Kudo was not discovered until very late last week.

77/365- Blythes

Ah, blythes I have such a bizarre relationship with you. I like blythe quite a bit but while my love of pullips is nearly all encompassing (I haven’t met a stock pullip I haven’t liked) I am unfortunately a bit more fickle with the blythes ^^;. The worse part is I can never be precisely sure if I will love a blythe or not until I see it in person, as a result I have actually ended up rehoming nearly 20 blythes now. All of the rehomed Blythes were dolls  I thought I would love in person (even Mondie and All Gold in One) but that I ended up not liking them very much in person.
77/365- Blythes
I have noticed I tend to prefer the Blythes with orange or red hair but even that is not a guarantee, both Adorable Aubrey and Aubrena ended up rehomed. I had been wanting Aubrena for literally years before buying her earlier this year only to not like her so much in person.

Even though, my last blythe ended up disappointing me I have decided to go out on a limb for my birthday and buy myself Marigold. Marigold has been a grail of mine for quite a while but due to my fickleness with blythe I was cautious about buying her, I decided to take the plunge and at least give her a chance. Worst case scenario, if I can’t bond with her like the others I can always rehome her and then I would at least know and can quit pining for her. I hope she is here to stay!

32/365 Blythe Loves LPS

Since we were expecting another big snowstorm here, we ran to the store to get some much needed supplies of course a couple of other things happened to fall into the cart. I had been hearing about the Blythe and Littlest Pet Shop collaboration since before it even hit stores and I was interested in them, since I like both Blythe and Littlest Pet Shop these seemed like kind of a no-brainer to me.  I had been seeing them in the store and loved them but somehow had never managed to pick any up, I finally caved and got three sets all at once including the very apt Winter Weather Cute set. 32/365- Blythe Loves LPS
I don’t have any actual petite blythes to compare them to sadly, so I can’t comment on quality but I think these are pretty comparable to the original little pullips. I like them quite a bit and I think Hasbro has made some really nice sets, I especially like the two travel sets England and France (coincidently the other two sets I picked up). The newest series sells the mini blythe doll and the corresponding pet separately, I am not as big a fan of them as it works out to be a lot more expensive for example the Winter Weather Cute set was $12.99 if I got one of the new series the Blythe alone would be $10.99 and if I wanted the corresponding pet it would be an additional $6.99.

365 Project- January Review

I have officially made it a month into this year’s 365 toy project. I have been trying to focus on featuring a variety of different toys and not just my dolls. I think I have been somewhat successful with this, I have even featured somethings I didn’t even know I owned (Puffy Ami Yumi figures, Gundam 00 Gashapon)  as well as some stuff I had never really photographed before (Tokidoki).

24/365 Blythe Prima Dolly Aubrina- Marmalade Maeve

I was supposed to give up blythe this year, well not really give up altogether as I am not selling my current ones but I had decided to do the one in/one out rule (I can’t buy anymore unless I sell/trade one of my current ones). I had kind of built myself in one exception- Simply Bubble Boom as she is a FBL which is a facemold I have never had and she has orange hair and well I love orange hair. I already fell off the blythe wagon and bought Prima Dolly Aubrina, she had been on my wishlist for years as in theory I should love her she is a redhead and she is my favorite mold RBL.
24/365 Marmalade Maeve
I admittedly have a love/hate relationship with blythes only about half of the ones that come in end up staying long term. I do like her but I am not sure I love her enough to keep her long term. I am not sure if my indifference is because I was absolutely smitten with my last two (V-smash and Cloud Bowl 9) the moment I saw them or if she is really just not meant to be. I will keep her around for a while and see if she grows on me, it is a pity as I think she is adorable I just don’t really feel anything towards her yet ^^;

12/365- ADG Blythe Snowday!

I spent all of yesterday at my grandparents’ house waiting out the snowstorm, it was the most snow in my area since 1888 so I thought it prudent to not try and drive around in the city. My ADG blythe, Gina stays at my grandparents’ house pretty much all the time. I had brought her over a while ago to show her to my grandmother  to see if she remembered maybe buying kenners for any of my aunts/cousins she did not. My grandmother was however quite fond of Gina and seemed rather dismayed when I was going to take her home so I decided it would be okay to leave her there as I am there pretty often myself. Since she doesn’t live at home with me, I don’t photograph Gina all that often so I decided to dress her up for the snow and get some quick pictures of her. 12/365- Gina (ADG Blythe)

Middie Blythe Announced

Takara is offering a new doll in the blythe line. She is larger than a petite blythe but smaller than a neo blythe, she is appropriately named Middie.

Size (height): About 20cm
Eye color: 1 color (eye direction is moveable from left to right)
Eyelids: Set (do not close or open)
Neck: Moveable to left and right

Waist: Stable (does not twist)

The eye movement reminds me of pullip who can also only look from side to side. To me the pictures of her almost make it seem like she would be a good companion of dal and byul rather than blythe.  The one real photo of her we have makes her neck look delightfully unhinged, something just disturbs me about her neck angle it just looks to unnatural. I am really anxious to find out more about Middie such as her price. I will probably get one in the future, I have a feeling the first one released in the line will be hard to get a hold of as so many people are going to try and get one to try them out so I will probably wait for a redhead or a  fantasy colored release before pouncing on one.

Blythedoll posted a slightly creepy video of the eye/neck movement. Middie does look promising, I am very excited about her.
