Lalaloopsy!

During summer of last year, I spotted a rather peculiar looking doll in the toy aisle. Back when they were first released they were known as Bitty Buttons but have since been renamed Lalaloopsy. I ended up buying one under the understanding that it was a lark, and I would only ever have the one; I ended up choosing Crumbs Sugar Cookie but it had been a very hard decision between her and Peanut Big Top. As time wore on I ended up picking up a second Lalaloopsy Marina Anchors and then I started to get into the minis a  bit then I guess a few more of the big ones wouldn’t hurt anything…. I decided I was finally going to get Peanut Big Top unfortunately she could not be found in stores and the prices on eBay were ridiculous for her, I even had friends in other countries looking for her with no luck.

Apparently I was not alone in my plight as a lot of people complained about the unavailability of a handful of the earlier girls so they decided to do a rerelease so I pounced on the first reasonably priced Peanut Big Top I found online. Around the same time Toys R Us was offering a free shipping special and I happened to have a $20 TRU giftcard handy so I was able to get Peanut’s little sister Squirt Lil’ Top for a steal (I think I paid $1.45 out of pocket for tax). Coincidentally they both managed to arrive on the same day.

Dia de Muertos custom Monster High

Requiemart made a series of three custom Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) custom Monster High dolls recently. While all three of the dolls were stunning, I instantly fell in love with Ghoulia  and well I was powerless to resist her…

I still haven’t figured out a name for her just yet, so she is just Dia de Muertos Ghoulia ^^; I’m kind of hoping she remains my one and only Monster High custom doll but well who am I kidding? I already have a custom Lagoona too ^^;.

Arrival- Lati Yellow Pumpkin Lumi BJD

I just realized that I never blogged the arrival of my newest bjd, my beloved little Trixie Treat. Trixie Treat is a  Halloween Pumpkin Version Lumi Lati Yellow. I’ll be the first to admit that I never anticipated owning a Lati Yellow, I didn’t really see the appeal in them for a long time but they have been steadily growing on me this process has been helped of course by several of my friends getting them and flooding me with absolutely adorable photos of them. I had been looking at Lati Yellow photos more and more even beyond those taken by my friends and had become rather smitten by them, then I happened to get a little bit of a bonus so I decided to treat myself.

I went through photos of every Lati Yellow release ever and made a shortlist of who I liked (Pumpkin Lumi was at the top) I searched Den of Angels for a few days without really finding what I was looking for but I remembered one of my friends recommending the Lati Yellow Yahoo Adoption group and luck was on my side as I had someone contact me within a few hours.

Halloween Pictures!

Before it gets much later, I figured I should really blog the pictures I took for Halloween (especially since they are already three days late going up here).

A couple of my Pullip Papins got together for a little Halloween party, the green haired Papin named Punky dressed up as Pullip Chicca while the orange haired one named Button decided to dress up as a cute witch. In stark contrast to the Papins’ cutesy costumes, the Nameless decided to go as something truly horrifying this year namely herself. It does seem that no matter how evil someone may be they can not deny the inherent goodness that are KitKats. Duela wasn’t really invited to the party, she just kind of crashed it in her batsuit so she could steal all the candy!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween this year! Halloween was effectively cancelled for a lot of areas of the northeast this year because of the snowstorm over this past weekend (many people still don’t have power :/) but we were very fortunate here and only got about an inch of snow so the zilla and I were still able to go out trick or treating.

I’m admittedly getting a bit backed up here but I’m hoping to become more active in the next few days things to look forward too…

Halloween Limited Pullip Banshee

The Halloween limited edition Pullip Banshee and Isul Sith arrived yesterday from Pullipstyle. I have been anxiously awaiting the pair since they were announced back in August especially since Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I decided to photograph Banshee yesterday as I ordered her first, I photographed Sith today so I’ll probably blog his photos tomorrow.

After much thought I decided to name her Morrigan after a goddess in Irish folklore. Morrigan  is the goddess of battle, strife and fertility but she has also been linked with  banshees in later legends/writings.

Scary Byul Lilith

I recently did a trade with Requiemart and got her customized Lilith Byul in exchange for one of my own dolls. Requiemart has eventual intentions of making a Lilith Dal so she was keen on keeping Lilith’s stock/wig, Lilith has a definite look about her so she was a bit of a challenge to find a suitable new look for. After lots of playing around with different looks , I think I am finally happy with her new look….

ANIMADNESS!!!

I decided to go visit Requiemart on Saturday (more on the dolly meet later), since I was already in the area I decided to take a run up to Animadness. Animadness is a store that sells anime figures and various paraphernalia as well as Pullips in Waltham, MA; while they aren’t exactly local to me (it’s about a two and a half hour drive each way but it’s only about half an hour from Requiemart’s house) I still manage to drop in for a little shopping spree every couple of months. In a way, I am kind of glad that Animadness isn’t closer to me as if they were as if they were much closer I feel I would be perpetually broke.

Whenever I visit, I take lots of store pictures as I have personally ventured all over New England trying to find various hole-in-the-wall comic book stores/stores that supposedly sold anime most of the time I ended up well rather disappointed :/ I figure that if I post pictures anyone curious about the store can gauge for themselves whether or not it is worth the trip or not (it totally is!). It also helps that the owners are really nice, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about anime.  Continue reading →

Haru-chan Nendoroid

I picked up the Haru-chan nendoroid during my most recent trip to Animadness. I had actually been admiring the Haru-chan nendoroid ever since she was announced but due to my cutting back on collecting anime figures, I neglected to preorder her. I ended up regretting passing on her so when I saw her at Animadness I pounced and I did not regret it as she is cute as a button!

Pullip Prupate (Twiggy)

I recently purchased a second Pullip Prupate, I’ve actually had her for a few weeks now but had a hard time deciding on a look for her which I think I finally found it last night.I previously blogged about my other Prupate Carnivale who I am keeping stock but I love my new one so much I decided she needed her own blog post too.

Transformers Mini figures

I’ve been seeing the Kre-O Transformers kits around for a while now, while I didn’t really care for the kits themselves I loved the Transformers mini-figures. Rather than buying all the kits myself, I turned to ebay and found an auction for all the mini figures by themselves and pounced. Transformers mini-figures
